Hence, after almost twelve years, returning to the chair of a director definitely needed an extra boost for him to accept. Frank Darabont indicates that his “love for the show” was the main reason that made him accept the Duffer Brothers’ offer. The Duffer Brothers went to Frank Darabont after Dan Trachtenberg faced scheduling issues due to his movie, Predator: Badlands, and had to drop out.
This caused the Duffer Brothers to reach out to Frank Darabont, as they were big fans of his works. Frank Darabont is also a huge fan of Stranger Things, as he and his wife watched “all four seasons three or four or maybe even five times”.
Frank Darabont, with projects such as The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Walking Dead, and many more, is able to perfectly bring out a cinematic experience. Hence, his addition to Stranger Things Season 5 is truly worth appreciating.
