Love, Take Two begins on a heavy note as Ji-an and Hyo-ri are shaken by a devastating tumour diagnosis. While Ji-an tries to hold it together at work, tension grows between her and Hyo-ri over their clashing lifestyles. Things spiral further when her boss refuses to return borrowed money, putting Hyo-ri’s education in jeopardy.

Ji-an is left stressed and cornered, with problems piling up fast. Elsewhere, Hyo-ri has a rough day of her own, standing up to a bullying senior at the hospital in a bold moment that shocks everyone. She then makes a drastic move, quitting school altogether.

Meanwhile, Hyo-ri refuses to answer her mother's questions and takes off on her own. Hyo-ri and her best friend Sook spend a carefree night near the sea before heading to an architecture studio in Cheonghae Village.

Ji-an, stunned to learn her daughter had closed her bank account, eventually tracks her to the village. After spotting photos online, Ji-an and Sun-young head to Cheonghae, unsure of what they’ll find. Destiny seems to be pulling everyone to the same place.

At the village, the locals help the girls out while Bo-hyeon lends a hand with their car. But things explode when Ji-an confronts Hyo-ri and tries to drag her back home. Refusing to be controlled, Hyo-ri tells everyone to leave and finally reveals her illness to Ji-an. With emotions running high, she tells her mom she’s staying in Cheonghae.
