The Office (UK) and Luther are two of the fifteen titles that are going to be available for streaming for a limited period of time. Britbox is usually where one goes to stream British shows in the United States, but now the same can be done on HBO Max for a limited time.
HBO Max has made a limited-time arrangement with Britbox, which will allow the former platform to give a temporary home to fifteen British titles. From 1st August 2025 to 29th September, HBO Max will have a
“programming pop-up”
feature, which will allow viewers to view fifteen British titles (normally available via Britbox), which are part of the arrangement.
The Office and other titles will be temporarily available on HBO Max
The Office (US) was inspired by The Office (UK) and has become one of the most successful shows in American television history. Similarly, in the UK, the original British The Office has been a huge success since it chest aired in 2001. The show follows the everyday lives of the employees of the Wernham Hogg paper company's Slough branch, led by their general manager, David Brent (played by Ricky Gervais). It initially aired on BBC Two and was later aired on BBC's international channels, receiving much popularity.

Despite the show having only two seasons, audiences all over the world are fans of the show, and the new limited arrangement will allow many to watch the show even if they don't have a Britbox subscription. The Office and Luther are not the only British shows available during this time.
Seasons one and two of Agatha Christie’s Murder Is Easy, Agatha Christie’s Towards Zero, Shakespeare & Hathaway, Father Brown, Silent Witness, Sister Bonaface, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, and Blue Lights will be available on HBO Max's new limited feature from 1st August to 29th September 2025. The Sixth Commandment will be available, as well as the two-part The Office Christmas special.
Some titles are, however, available for a shorter time. Season one of Luther and Sherwood will be available only during the month of August. Season two of Luther will be available from 1st August to 29th September 2025, like the majority of the titles.
As Deadline reports, the President of BritBox, Robert Schildhouse, said in a statement about this new limited feature:
“HBO Max viewers seek premium entertainment they can’t get anywhere else. Through this partnership, we are excited to offer them a premium collection of distinctly British series to complement their viewing experience, including acclaimed series, fan-favorite franchises, standout performances from celebrated talent, and exceptional storytelling across mystery, crime, drama, and comedy.”
Deadline reports that Chief Financial & Strategy Officer of Streaming, Warner Bros. Discovery, Joshua Walker, spoke on the matter, saying,
“We’re continually looking for creative ways to bring more high-quality storytelling to our HBO Max audience. This BritBox sampling gives our subscribers a chance to discover a variety of great British television series featuring rich, distinctive stories.”
If you love watching any of the British dramas available temporarily on HBO Max, make sure you watch them while the arrangement is still available.
