AMC's American period drama series Mad Men ran for seven seasons (2007-2015) and was one of the most popular shows on cable TV. The show has continued to enjoy appreciation and praise over the years and has triumphed as a classic hit for generations.

1) Jon Hamm as Don Draper
Jon Hamm got his career breakthrough role as Don Draper in Mad Men. Don was introduced as a creative director and junior partner of Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency, who eventually became a partner. Draper was an archetype for 1960s corporate men, who were hard-drinking, chain-smoking, and ambitious executives, stopping at nothing before achieving success.
This AMC period drama was the first stepping stone in Jon Hamm's career, who has starred in many successful shows since. Some of these include Landman, Fargo, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Your Friends & Neighbors.
2) Elisabeth Moss as Peggy Olson
Before her role as June Osborne in Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale, Elisabeth Moss went toe-to-toe with Don as Peggy Olson. Throughout the seven seasons of Mad Men, Peggy was promoted from secretary to copywriter with her own office.

3) January Jones as Betty Draper
January Jones became a household name, thanks to her Mad Men role of Betty Draper. Debuting as the repressed suburban wife, Betty was a successful model in Manhattan when she first met Don. The couple married soon after and had three children.

4) Vincent Kartheiser as Pete Campbell
While Pete Campbell hailed from a privileged background and his New York family had many connections, this did not stop him from becoming an ambitious account executive at Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency.
Since Mad Men, Vincent Kartheiser has appeared in projects like The OA and Casual. He also played the Batman villain Jonathan Crane, a.k.a. the Scarecrow, on Titans.
5) Christina Hendricks as Joan Holloway
The ambitious Joan Holloway rose from an office manager and head of the secretarial pool at Sterling Cooper to an equal partner. After the firm is absorbed by Erikson, she even establishes her own firm.
Christina Hendricks gained popularity from her Mad Men role and went on to star in projects like Good Girls, The Buccaneers, Small Town, Big Story and Good American Family.
6) Jessica Paré as Megan Calvet
Megan Calvet had an upward curve at Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency, as Jessica Paré was eventually promoted to the main cast in Mad Men after Season 4. Megan started as a receptionist and was then promoted to Don's secretary and a junior copywriter, following which she eventually married him.
Jessica Paré has since starred in shows like SEAL Team, Atypical and The Simpsons.
