Made in Korea takes viewers back to 1970 with the first episode surrounding a hijack by activists from the Japanese Communist League aiming to turn the plane towards Pyongyang. In the same plane, the lead character of the show, Kenji, a character played by Hyun Bin, is also travelling to Fukuoka to complete his task of passing Ikeda Yuji a briefcase that contains meth.

Kenji, who has his own secrets and job to complete, applies his brain and tries to bring the situation under control by giving his briefcase in exchange for releasing the passengers. Kenji was smart, and he knew this opportunity could be used to save the plane. Hence, he passed on the number written to the mother's kid, who was sitting near him, for further help.

To navigate through the situation, the captain of the plane comes up with the plan to land the plane in Fukuoka, where it was originally headed, in order to refuel the tank.

Though they tried their best to make the hijackers feel that they were landing in Pyongyang's airport, their leader wasn't deceived.

Kenji, losing his patience, kills the leader with his gun to end the ongoing situation. This creates panic, and other hijackers, seeing no way out, scare Kenji by showing the bomb. Kenji, who is already losing patience, knew it was fake and hit it.

The situation is finally under control, but they still take the Japanese minister to North Korea.

Kenji reveals his real identity

Kenji's identity is revealed as Baek Gi-tae, who is the head of the Korean Central Intelligence Agency. And that's why it became easier for him to smuggle meth without any checks. Earlier, when he gave a woman a number for help, it was actually a contact from his agency.

After dealing with the situation, he finally meets Ikeda Yuji. However, the transaction doesn't go through, as he already gave his briefcase to the hijackers in the plane.

In Made in Korea, a new character, Manjae, is introduced as part of a dangerous group that is already being hunted. Gi-tae already knows many things, including Manjae's secrets and who he is dealing with, who is the Yakuza.

Episode 2 focuses on the investigation of the murder of a couple killed by American soldiers. However, they didn't kill their baby and eventually got caught by Geonyoung. After finding the details about the meeting that was scheduled to take place, he decides to attend it.

However, he can't directly meet this person, as the person was supposed to meet the couple, and with the couple now being dead, he needs people who can act like a couple. He comes up with a new solution and asks Yejin to act like his wife, and the two meet at C’est La Vie Cafe, only to find Kang Daeil from the Manjae group.

Baek Gi-tae's involvement with Manjae and Daeik

Now, both KCIA and Geonyoung are behind the Manjae group, and no one wants to take a step back. While Gi-Tae knows who they are dealing with, Geongyoung now knows the right-hand person of the Manjae Group.

The two have their own ways of dealing with things, which leads them to tap the hotel room where Manjae's meeting is scheduled to take place. Surprisingly, it turns out Gi-tae was involved with Manjae and Daeil.

After killing Manjae, Gukpyeong also wanted to kill Daeil, who had met Geonyoung in the cafe previously. However, Gi-tae doesn't let him kill Daeil for the gang's future.

Now that Manjae is gone, Gi-tae is all out plotting with Daeil about new plans. And with Geonyeong now knowing the truth, it will be interesting for the viewers to see what he will do next in Made in Korea.
