WWE Raw's latest episode of January 20, 2025, which streamed live on Netflix via the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, took the WWE fans one more step closer to the Royal Rumble.

This week’s WWE Raw was completely crammed with escalating drama, heated promos, and shocking moments that kept viewers on their toes right from the start.

Here are a few of the highlights that you may have missed!

CM Punk steals the spotlight

CM Punk brought an exhilarating promo at WWE Raw. During an interview with Jackie Redmond, Punk glorified his Royal Rumble goals and aims while taking a shot at one of the fellow WWE Raw stars, including Sami Zayn and John Cena while shelving Zayn as someone who wasn’t in his league.

Nevertheless, the line that left all of the WWE Raw fans pulsating was when Punk boldly and openly acknowledged to “kill Hulkamania.” Not once did he crumble while saying –

“If they put Hulk Hogan in the Rumble, I’d throw his dusty a*s out and kill Hulkamania forever.”

The audience in the crowd stands began to explode which in turn only solidified Punk’s position as one of the most fascinating figures on WWE Raw.

In other news, Jey Uso also kicked off the WWE Raw night with a blazing promo about his imminent World Heavyweight Championship match with him going up against Gunther on Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Gunther intruded the space while getting out a blunt critique of Jey’s career by calling him a “company mascot.” But soon enough Jey kicked back while reminding everyone of his WrestleMania main event achievement before super kicking Gunther out of the ring.

Bayley’s WWE raw debut and main event drama

Bayley’s shift to Raw made a pressing impact on Netflix’s WWE Raw. Adam Pearce was the one who publicized Bayley’s arrival before the show, and Bayley had a face-off against Nia Jax in a tough-hitting match.

No matter how hard Bayley tried, Jax acquired herself with the win with her Annihilator finish. The post-match turmoil then saw Rhea Ripley storming into the ring to deal with Jax, which only added fuel to the fire that could impact their imminent match during Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The evening’s main event also included a WrestleMania rematch between Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre. The two of them made sure to give out an intense fight, but Rollins arose triumphant with a speedy win.

Nevertheless, the drama at tonight’s WWE Raw did not seem to end there—McIntyre jerked out in annoyance which led to him attacking Rollins.

Sami Zayn attempted to interfere but in a turn of events he unintentionally super-kicked Rollins which complicated the already overwrought dynamic among WWE’s top contestants.

Promos and Twists

Sami Zayn also crafted heat with a touching promo about his ambitions regarding the Royal Rumble. Kevin Owens interfered with him advancing some praise while subtly trying to influence and direct Zayn to aid him in his WWE Championship ladder match against Cody Rhodes.

Meanwhile, Bayley’s debut at the WWE Raw was not only an NXT-related wonder. Roxanne Perez also made her attendance felt at tonight’s WWE Raw.

From CM Punk’s headline-marking the promo to very unexpected alliances and enmities being formed at tonight’s WWE Raw, the road map to the Royal Rumble seems exhilarating. With the stage being all set for Saturday Night’s Main Event and beyond, fans of WWE Raw can expect even more spirals, turns, and surprises in the coming weeks.
