In March 2025, the satirical comedy series The Studio made its debut on Apple TV+. It was made by Seth Rogen and others, and Rogen plays Matt Remick, the new manager of a faltering Hollywood studio who must strike a compromise between his creative ambitions and commercial obligations.

Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Hahn, and Catherine O'Hara are among the series' skilled cast members and The Studio garnered 23 Emmy nominations for its debut season and was praised for its witty humor, directing, and celebrity appearances.

Martin Scorsese recently shared a clip of his passionate reaction to earning his first Emmy nomination for acting. At 82 years old, the iconic filmmaker—known globally for his directing and producing—was honored in a new category: Outstanding Guest Actor for his appearance in the Apple TV+ comedy series The Studio.

In the first episode of The Studio, Scorsese makes an appearance as a reincarnation of himself. The show provides a humorous look at Hollywood and ws developed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

Both the crowd and the producers were thrilled by Scorsese's performance. The team was overjoyed that such a legendary director decided to take part, and producer Evan Goldberg referred to his performance as "amazing."

Scorsese's daughter Francesca posted an emotional response to the nomination on Instagram where she shared a video of his FaceTime chat and he was clearly astonished and overwhelmed by the news, fondly referred to him as "our little actor.”

Scorsese has previously won Emmys for directing and producing work on a show such as HBO's Boardwalk Empire and the film George Harrison: Living in the Material World (2011), but this is his first nomination for acting.

Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing were among the Emmy nominations that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's the Studio received this year. Bryan Cranston, Dave Franco, Anthony Mackie, and Ron Howard were among the other program guests who received acting nominations.

Scorsese is still working on new projects for the future. Alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, he is producing the thriller Carthage Must Be Destroyed, which is being directed by Ted Griffin. In addition, he is reportedly co-starring alongside Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt in a brand-new mafia-themed film that is set in Hawaii.

The Studio is available to stream on Apple TV+, providing viewers with a comic take on the film industry, including major guest appearances from Scorsese. The Emmy Awards ceremony, during which winners will be revealed, is scheduled for September 14, 2025.
