An untitled series about gambling, set in Las Vegas, is in the works at Netflix, and it is going to be executive-produced by Martin Scorsese. The show is in the very initial stages of development, and thus, has no title as of now. Brian Koppelman and David Levien, who are known for being the writers behind Rounders and Ocean’s Thirteen, are the writers behind the upcoming Netflix series.

While Netflix has not revealed a lot, the show will be focusing on a character named Robert Redman and his ambitious decisions.

More about the untitled show executive-produced by Martin Scorsese

The untitled Netflix show is going to have eight episodes and will be set in the sin city of Las Vegas. It will explore the career choices made by a man who is already quite successful, but is trying to make a bigger impact in the casino business.

Netflix announced the news of the show with a post on X, with the caption,

A high-stakes modern-day casino drama series from the creators of Billions and executive executive produced by Martin Scorsese, Julie Yorn, and Rick Yorn is coming to Netflix.

This was followed by a part of the show's synopsis. According to Tudum by Netflix, the show's complete synopsis is,

The hourlong drama is set in the high-stakes, sharp-elbowed present-day Las Vegas casino business, which is a modernized but still dangerous version of the legendary city. At the center of which stands Robert “Bobby Red” Redman, president of the hottest hotel casino in town, who has to make some long odds moves to try and secure his position and take more ground.

This isn't the first time Martin Scorsese has involved himself in a project about gambling. He is well-known for his film Casino (1995), which had similar themes. Brian Koppelman and David Levien, who are writers behind the upcoming untitled Netflix show are also extremely familiar with the genre. The pair is known for writing Ocean’s Thirteen, Rounders, and Runner Runner, all projects that deal with either crime, gambling or poker. Thus it'll be interesting to see them pair up with a filmmaker like Martin Scorsese.

This isn't Scorsese's first time executive producing a film. Other than being a celebrated filmmaker, he has also executive-produced several projects such as Boardwalk Empire, Vinyl, Pretend It’s a City, The Last Movie Stars, and will executive-produce Cape Fear. The last time Martin Scorsese's worked on a feature film was Killers of the Flower Moon, and thus his coming back to executive produce a show is a big deal for long-time fans of the filmmaker.

Brian Koppelman and David Levien have also executive-produced the show and serve as showrunners. Other than Scorsese, Koppelman, and Levin, the show is executive produced by Sikelia Productions, Julie Yorn, Rick Yorn, Paul Schiff, and Beth Schacter. The science is co-executive produced by Kerry Orent. Expanded Media and Sikelia Productions are the production houses behind the show. No cast members for the show have been revealed yet, and there is no estimated release date either. Stay tuned for more information.
