Marvel Cinematic Universe's Vision Quest has wrapped filming, multiple sources confirm, with production completing on time in late July 2025. A sequel to the Disney+ show WandaVision, Vision Quest will take the character Vision on a new journey, with the focus being on the iteration titled "White Vision." The series will hit Disney+ in 2026 and run for eight episodes as part of Marvel's Phase Six strategy.

Production took place in the United Kingdom, with extensive filming at London's Pinewood Studios and on locations across the UK, with English villages used as stand-ins for Scottish towns. The primary cast includes Paul Bettany reprising the role of Vision, along with James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, T'Nia Miller, Emily Hampshire, and more.

Directed by showrunner Terry Matalas, Vision Quest picks up where WandaVision left off and tries to delve deeper into Vision's identity post-previous Marvel movies. The series is among the most important future additions to the MCU, and its release is bound to tie into future Avengers ventures.

Production and filming timeline

Official reports state that Vision Quest started filming in March 2025 at Pinewood Studios in London. Village settings in the south of England were also used by the show, as set images captured real street closures and the conversion of pubs in their areas for Marvel's fictionalized environments.

The working title was "Tin Man," which was employed to keep secrets between production teams and the general public. Principal photography was set to continue through late July 2025, when all principal photography wrapped as scheduled.

Marvel Studios released no significant on-set halts during production, and trade sources reported that the production kept its schedule despite general industry delays at the time of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Plot details and story continuity

The official synopsis reveals that Vision Quest explores White Vision as he attempts to reclaim his identity following what transpired in WandaVision. This iteration of Vision was reconstructed and brought back to life by S.W.O.R.D. following Vision's initial death in Avengers: Infinity War.

WandaVision showed how Wanda Maximoff, Elizabeth Olsen, engaged with and temporarily recalled the memories of White Vision before he left to seek his way. Loosely based on the "West Coast Avengers" Marvel Comics storyline, the show will delve into Vision's attempt to reconnect with his history and find his position in the world.

According to reports, the show could have Vision go to Madripoor, a fictional Marvel place, and meet several old and new friends. There is no confirmation as yet of Elizabeth Olsen returning as her character is mentioned in Vision's journey.

Cast and crew of Vision Quest

Paul Bettany continues his cast appearances as Vision since the character's first appearance as J.A.R.V.I.S. in the initial MCU movies and as Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron. James Spader, who provided the voice of Ultron, is also on board, along with T'Nia Miller as Jocasta, Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., Ruaridh Mollica, and Todd Stashwick.

Terry Matalas is the showrunner and director. Matalas is behind the new direction of the project with the departure of WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer. Kevin Feige and other top Marvel Studios executives are listed as producers.

Release date and connection to the MCU

Though Marvel did not provide a specific date, Vision Quest is coming to Disney+ sometime in 2026. The show will be a part of Phase Six of the MCU, which could set up plans for future Avengers movies. The eight-episode series will likely come before Avengers: Doomsday, positioning Vision as a key character in the next big MCU crossover event.
