Since the premiere of Matlock Season 2, one thing has been constant, and that's the annoying rift between Olympia and Matty. It did make sense at one point, but the power plays between the two were getting repetitive. Even though they wanted to unravel the Wellbrexa scandal, their paths were different, and honestly, viewers were hoping for an alliance (even if it was fragile)

By the end of Episode 3 of Matlock Season 2, Matty and Olympia are finally back working as a team. How? After the firm received a call from a Times reporter, they knew there was a mole among them trying to leak information about the Wellbrexa scandal. They launched an investigation led by the security head, Lester 'The Wolf' Logan. The situation almost forced Matty and Olympia to work together. However, during the interrogation, Olympia made a mistake that could've cost them their investigation, and they broke into an argument. Enter Emmalyn Belvin, the kind-hearted manager who confessed to Matty that she who wrote the Reddit post about Wellbrexa, and she wanted to confess.

Initially, Matty refused to let her turn in. When Olympia made a mistake during the interview, she asked Matty to let Emmalyn confess. Matty did not agree, but while solving a case revolving around a family feud, their client Nadine's (Nvette Nicole Brown) speech moved her so much that she decided to save Olympia and let Emmalyn take the blame.

Here's what made Matty change her mind and brought the old friends together (at least for now). Continue reading to know more about Matlock Season 2.

Matlock Season 2 Episode 3: How did Nvette Nicole Brown plot bring peace to the Olympia-Matty feud?

Surely, Jacobson Moore's investigation was tense, but Matty and team had to handle a case revolving around a family feud regarding their restaurant business. Their client was none other than Nadine, portrayed by Nvette Nicole Brown. Nadine was a proud restaurant owner who accused her brother of stealing her recipes and ideas for his food truck.

After a few tense courtroom sessions, Nadine revealed her true feelings to Matty and Olympia. She revealed that the real reason she did not allow her 'showman' brother into the business because she feared that he might take over the one thing that made her feel seen. She revealed her grandmother was the only person who valued Nadine's efforts and talent. After a few negotiations and a strange blindfolded fried chicken test, they were able to convince both sides to negotiate, especially Nadine.

Nadine's emotional revelation that the restaurant was the only way that she felt important moved Matty to the core. Olympia revealed that even Pierre would get back to business, and they'd make sure that Nadine would remain in charge. And the best way out? Her face and brand would also be on the board signs, cups, and napkins. The entire thing reminded Matty of the Wellbrexa case and how all she wanted was justice for her late daughter and the hundreds of others who were wronged.

Thus, Matty finally decided to talk to Emmalyn and made her understand how someone might be making the same efforts as Emmalyn to unravel the truth behind the scandal; however, the investigation might bring him/her down. Matty said,

"There's somebody out there who's fighting your fight.

Although Emmalyn didn't need any convincing, Matty's words worked as an encouragement. Emmalyn confessed, and she was immediately terminated. Later at the bar, Matty arranged a sweet farewell party and anonymously gave her half a million. Surely, neither Matty nor Olympia was right for pinning the blame on Emmalyn, but they did not have any options. If either of them had been caught, their conversation and chats would bring the other down, too, thus putting an end to the Wellbrexa scandal's investigation.

Emmalyn's ultimate sacrifice will surely haunt Olympia and Matty for the rest of their lives, but for now, they must turn their grief into grit. The investigation is not over, and the real battle has just begun.
