Maxton Hall Season 2 dropped its premiere on November 7, 2025, on Amazon Prime Video.
This time, they switched things up from last season’s binge drop. Instead of releasing everything at once, they went with a staggered schedule. There are six episodes in total. The first three: Devastated, Wish to the Universe, and Emotional Rollercoaster, all landed together on day one.
After that, a new episode comes out every Friday. Episode 4, Secrets, hit on November 14, and the last couple of episodes will finish things off by November 28, 2025.
Maxton Hall Episode 3, Emotional Rollercoaster, throws everyone into the whirlwind of the Alice Campbell fundraising gala. At the heart of it all, you have James Beaufort and Ruby Bell, their feelings pretty much front and center. James stands up at the gala and delivers an honest speech. He is clearly tired of living under his father Mortimer’s thumb. You can really feel how much he wants to break free.
Things reach a boiling point when James and Mortimer get into a heated argument. Mortimer ends up dragging James out of the event, and Ruby just stands there, watching, but she is smiling, hopeful, somehow, even after all that drama. The whole thing leaves you hanging, setting up some serious tension for Maxton Hall Episode 4.
Maxton Hall Season 2 Episode 4 recap: Secrets

Maxton Hall Episode 4 jumps in right after James pours his heart out at the Campbell charity gala, a speech that grabbed headlines and, of course, caught the attention of the last person he wanted: Mortimer Beaufort.
Right away, Mortimer bursts into the kitchen, waving a newspaper. James’ honest talk about mental health is everywhere now, and Mortimer is fuming, not out of concern for his son, but because he thinks James embarrassed the Beaufort family.
He tells James to stay away from Ruby and doesn’t bother hiding his threats about what will happen if James ignores him. The whole thing rattles James. You can see it on his face.
Ruby’s family is still riding the high from the charity event when she gets a message from James that he wants to talk. He shows up at her place, and there is no more dodging. They finally put their cards on the table. James says straight out that he doesn’t want to keep hurting her. He is sorry for the ways he has screwed up. There is still something electric between them, but this time, he pulls back. He wants more than just a quick fix. He wants it to actually mean something.
Ruby suggests they keep things quiet for now, just between them, until they are ready to go public. James agrees. After all that, they head into the kitchen and sit down with her family for dinner. It’s easy and warm, nothing like the chilly silence James usually gets at home.
Back at the Beaufort house, Lydia tries to win Mortimer back after blowing off an important meeting. He barely looks at her. He is convinced she will never change, and she has got a lot on her plate as her secret pregnancy hangs over everything, making her storyline in Maxton Hall even more intense.
Meanwhile, at school, Elaine sits with her friends, listening to James’ big speech. Her friends won’t stop whispering that James and Ruby are meant for each other. Elaine is stuck between jealousy and denial, so she does what she does best: throws a lavish all-white picnic. She invites James’ fancy crowd and Ruby’s friends, but she has an agenda.
At the picnic, her scheme is obvious. She tries to spike Ruby’s drink. Before Ruby even gets close, Cyril grabs it and knocks it back. Lin ends up drinking a spiked one too, and suddenly both of them are spiraling out, while Elaine fakes calm.
Then things get worse in Maxton Hall when Elaine’s older brother Frederick shows up, and he is arrogant, privileged, and ready to pick a fight. He goes after Ruby with a nasty comment, but James jumps in and, without hesitating, takes Ruby’s hand and calls her his girlfriend. That’s it. No more secrets.
Of course, the moment barely has time to settle. Cyril and Lin start vomiting all over the place, and Alistair has no choice but to shut the whole picnic down.
Ruby’s phone rang earlier with Alice Campbell on the other end, inviting her to London. After that picnic went downhill, and Ruby headed straight to Alice’s office. There, Alice drops some incredible news: she wants to give Ruby a full Oxford scholarship, covering her whole degree. On top of that, she is offering her a part-time job at the foundation.
Ruby can barely believe it. She rushes outside, heart racing, and finds James waiting for her. They wrap each other up in a big hug, both grinning like kids. James doesn’t waste a second, and he sweeps her off for a little London adventure. They bite into gold-crusted burgers, sneak in quiet moments, and finally just get to be together, no drama, no interruptions.
As the night winds down, James asks Ruby to stay at his place. He tells her not to worry as Mortimer is supposed to be on a plane to New York. Then, out of nowhere, a storm rolls in and shuts down all flights. Now, Mortimer, stuck and fuming, tells his driver to take him back home. He is heading straight for James and Ruby.
The Maxton Hall episode cuts off right there, increasing the tension as they walk right into trouble without even realizing it.
