Maxton Hall Season 2 Episode 6 preview teases Ruby and James being closer than ever in the finale

Amazon Prime Video's Maxton Hall Season 2 Episode 6 is almost here.

Ahead of the season finale, Prime Video has dropped a sweet preview clip that has caught our attention, and we can't keep calm. It's Ruby Bell and James Beaufort on a bench, having a meaningful conversation that ends with a passionate kiss. Here's more about it.

In the 33-second clip, James brushes Ruby's hair gently and tells her that they will stay at Cyril's so that Ruby can concentrate on her exams scheduled the next day. He tells her,

"That's the priority right now. And when you get the scholarship, we'll celebrate your place at Oxford. Just the two of us."

Throughout James' monologue, Ruby looks right into his eyes. Both Harriet Herbig-Matten and Damien Hardung's performance in this sequence is phenomenal. It shows that no matter what happens, they will stick together. But with odds piling up against their relationship, can they hold onto each other till the end, or will they fail?

Maxton Hall Season 2 begins rough note for the couple. Ruby ignores James and instead focuses on her academics. While James continuously makes efforts to clear the misunderstandings. By Episode 4, his efforts finally show, and Ruby finally patches up with him. Episode 4 ends on a happy note with Ruby finally winning the scholarship.

However, things turn upside down in Episode 5. It begins with Ruby's scholarship getting invoked all of a sudden (it seems like Mortimer is behind the scheme). He even looks into James' phone, and he might have his hands on some of James and Ruby's private images.

On the other hand, Cyril and Elaine click Sutton and Lydia sharing a moment, and at the same time, the Principal receives a notification on the phone that leaves him stunned. It seems like things are not looking good for James and Ruby. (Book readers know what's coming next, and it's not something pleasant.)

James faces his own storm. Mortimer's grief flickers between vulnerability and cold control, swinging the household back into chaos. His sudden intrusion into James' private life deepens the rift, especially after he discovers photos meant to stay hidden.

Meanwhile, Lydia's secret romance with Mr. Sutton might not remain a secret anymore. In the episode, when Cyril tries to kiss Lydia, she pulls back and runs away, only to see Sutton chatting with another teacher. She bolts to the woods, and Sutton follows. There she reveals that she's pregnant. Cyril, still fuming with the rejection, teams up with Elaine and clicks photos of Sutton and Lydia kissing.
