He revealed that James and Ruby were not supposed to know about the whole photograph situation in the original ending of the season. The expose would have been a part of Season 3:“Originally, season 2 was going to end on a happy note. It wasn’t going to be [super] happy, but with foreshadowing. It was going to end with us happily walking across the front yard of the school.”When the cast watched the finale, they suggested including the full footage of Ruby being framed and expelled from school. The cast argued that the original ending would feel lackluster. The makers agreed and ended the season with a cliffhanger. Damian said:“Graham was going to be presented with that photo and that would have been it. Then we all saw it on the screen and everyone in the cast was like, ‘No. We want to have the emotional impact with the couples — including Lydia and Graham.” View this post on Instagram Instagram PostDamian also highlighted that the Season 2 ending is a reflection of the Season 1 finale, as both chapters concluded with tragic cliffhangers:“So they put it back in and I’m really happy because I feel like that kind of reflects the cliffhanger at the end of season 1, which was — for me — still one of the best cliffhangers there is. You always have a low point but at the same time you have hope. So it’s [important] to have both of those layers.”The change in Maxton Hall Season 2 finale does seem to have worked. Ever since the finale’s release, fans have been discussing the show and wondering what is going to happen next with Ruby. Will she lose her chance to go to Oxford? And how will James stand by her while going against his own father? These questions will be answered in Maxton Hall Season 3, which has already been ordered by Prime Video. However, the release date of the next season has not been announced yet.All episodes of Maxton Hall Season 2 are streaming on Prime Video.
