The enemies-to-lovers trope has never failed anyone, and such is the case for the Prime Video show Maxton Hall - The World Between Us. Season 2 of the German YA series is set to release on November 7, but in exciting news for fans, it has already been renewed for Season 3.
Maxton Hall - The World Between Us is based on Mona Kasten's best-selling series, which also has three books. It appears that the third season will be based on the third book in the series, titled Save Us.
An early renewal for Maxton Hall - The World Between Us Season 3 before the Season 2 premiere
The German YA series Maxton Hall - The World Between Us is set in a boarding school where the star-crossed student lovers' world collides. The series found record-breaking success when the first season was released on Prime Video in May 2024. It became the most-watched non U.S. title on Prime Video in its first week.
Ruby Bell, played by Harriet Herbig-Matten, and James Beaufort, played by Damian Hardung, will be reprising their roles in Season 2, where they will have to face the reality of the different worlds that they belong to.
The synopsis of Maxton Hall - The World Between Us Season 2, which is based on Kasten's second novel in the series titled Save You, reads:
"Those who fly high can also fall low…After their passionate night together in Oxford and her greatest life goal within reach, everything seems to be going perfectly for Ruby. But a stroke of fate in James’ family changes everything and James himself, of all people, brings her back from cloud nine to a harsh reality."
"Ruby is devastated. She has never had such strong feelings for anyone as she does for James – and she has never been so hurt by anyone either. She wants her old life back, where no one at Maxton Hall knew her and she wasn’t part of the elitist world of her classmates. But she can’t forget James – especially since he’s doing everything he can to win her back," it concludes.
There is no information at the moment regarding production dates for the third season, but there is a high chance it will begin production soon after the Season 2 premiere. Additionally, Mona Krasten's best-selling novel series had three books in it, out of which two have been adapted, and the third is set to be adapted for the third season, so there is a chance that Season 3 might be the final season for Maxton Hall - The World Between Us.
There was a teaser premiere for the second season where we see James being led away by his family while he longingly looks back at Rauby. However, in this teaser, he also seems to be partying with some other girl, right in front of Ruby's face, so we will have to wait until the Maxton Hall - The World Between Us Season 2 release to see how things pan out for the two.
