Chinese sci-fi drama Mobius was released on Netflix on September 17, 2025.

It also aired simultaneously on the Chinese streaming service iQIYI. The series had 16 episodes in total, with each episode running approximately 45 minutes. Mobius garnered attention for its mix of sci-fi elements alongside crime investigation and time-travel.

The source material for the series is Zhang Xiaomao’s novel Ni Shi Zhen Cha Zu, translated as “Time Reversal Detective Squad.” It follows the story of a detective named Ding Qi, who discovers the ability to rewind time multiple times. Ding Qi ends up using this extraordinary skill to solve complex crimes.

Meanwhile, a creepy killer is lurking around, going by “Squid” or sometimes just “X”. The story gets dark while weaving in all the suspense.

As Mobius is stealing the spotlight in the sci-fi world, fans want to know the faces behind the story. Front and center, we have Bai Jingting, Janice Man, and Song Yang bringing their A-game.

Here’s your guide to the cast of Mobius, breaking down who’s who and why they’re the backbone of Netflix’s latest sci-fi release.

Bai Jingting as Ding Qi

Bai Jingting is playing Ding Qi, a detective who has the ultimate cheat code, as he can relive a single day up to five times. That kind of power is the engine behind the story. He gets to rewind, spy around crime scenes, pick up on details he missed, and solve complex crimes.

And if his face looks familiar, he has already made waves in New Life Begins and Always on the Move.

Janice Man as An Lan

Janice Man plays the role of An Lan. Her character is right at the heart of Ding Qi’s investigation. An Lan has secrets for days, and Janice nails all that tangled-up emotion without overdoing it. Her involvement gets extra twisty thanks to the show’s jumbled timeline; you never really know who’s got whose back, or what’s actually going down between all these characters.

Song Yang as Mo Yuan Zhi

Song Yang is playing Mo Yuan Zhi. He is also in the middle of the chaos, poking at the story’s tangled web of crime and time-bending craziness. Mobius leans on him big-time, especially when ethical messes come up. His choices make the whole thing tick.

Liu Yi Jun as Jiang Yu

Liu Yi Jun joins in as Jiang Yu. He shakes things up for the main crew, piling on some extra drama into the Mobius storyline. As the story progresses, you never really know what’s coming when Jiang Yu comes on screen.

These four actors are running the show. You get crime-solving hijinks, with sci-fi, and time-travel shenanigans. Together, they create a gripping narrative while Ding Qi is chasing down a dangerous killer, Squid, or sometimes “X”.
