The Monster anthology series was created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan. Netflix is officially underway on its fourth season, with Charlie Hunnam needing to return in a completely new role. The series has been an extension of America's most terrifying true-life stories since the critical and commercial success of Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and Monster: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

Although the Monster 3 revolved around the 1989 case of the Menendez brothers, who murdered two women, the next sequel, Monster 4, is said to move to another high-profile case of crime that is full of psychological issues and moral ambiguity.
