Major casting updates for Netflix's Monster Season 4
Monster Season 3, which tells the story of the Wisconsin serial killer Ed Gein, who not only killed people but also dug up dead bodies from a grave to make household and fashion items from human remains, has yet to receive a release date from Netflix.
However, it has been revealed that the fourth season will follow the story of Lizzie Borden, who was tried and later acquitted in 1892 for the murder of her father and stepmother. This case received a lot of popularity and sensationalism from the nation and the media, leading to its depiction in several cultural works, from films to theater.

According to reports, Ella Beatty has been cast as Lizzie Borden for Netflix's Monster. Beatty has been previously seen in Freud: Capote vs. The Swans and made her Broadway debut after graduating from Juilliard with plays like Appropriate and Henrik Ibsen's Ghosts.
Lizzie Borden's trial received a lot of scrutiny from the nation because she was the only suspect in the murders, and she was still acquitted. Even years after the trial, she remains the prime suspect in the murders of her father and her stepmother, who were axed to their deaths. A lack of timely due diligence from the authorities led to a lot of controversy in this trial, leading to Lizzie's acquittal.
Additionally, it has also been revealed that Rebecca Hall might play Lizzie's stepmother in Netflix's Monsters, alongside Vicky Krieps as the maid who had been called by Lizzie upon discovering her father's body and who later found Lizzie's stepmother murdered as well.
Rebecca Hall was previously seen in projects such as the Emmy-nominated The Studio, The Listeners, Iron Man 3, The Night House, and Tales from the Loop, among others. Vicky Krieps, on the other hand, was seen in projects such as Phantom Thread, Corsage, The Dead Don't Hurt, Hot Milk, and More Than Ever.
The nationwide sensationalism of the case led to the story being depicted in several different art forms, such as plays, musicals, films, and books. A 2014 film by Lifetime featured Christina Ricci as Borden, whereas a 2018 feature film featured Chloë Sevigny as Borden and Kristen Stewart as Bridget Sullivan, the maid who had a lesbian tryst with Borden, leading to the murders.
