Moon River Episode 7 recap: Dal-i and Yi-kang's soul swap causes them to hit a critical point

Moon River is quite a refreshing take on the aspect of soul swapping. Along with the depiction of the storyline with a historical point of view, the series is a perfect combination of fantasy and political intrigue.

The breathtaking visuals, along with the intricate storyline, leave quite an impression on the viewers. It cannot be denied that the soul swapping aspect between Yi-kang and Dal-i perfectly captures the complexity that the two of them. The seventh episode of Moon River brings in a fresh turn of events for the two of them.

Dal-i and Yi-kang’s soul swap causes them to hit a critical point in Moon River Episode 7

Episode 7 of Moon Rivers starts with Yi-kang losing his consciousness. Dal-i quickly begins to take care of him. The doctor tells Dal-i that Yi-kang was drugged after inspecting the clothes. Dal-i gets more and more worried about the situation. Yi-kang then wakes up and understands that it was all the minister's plan.

He also understands that this must be the reason for their soul swapping, so that he would get hurt instead of Dak-i. He then tells Dal-i to leave right after their soul gets swapped back to normal. Hearing Yi-kang’s words, Dal-i begins to angrily speak about her feelings. It can be understood that his words impacted her deeply.

Yi-kang, on the other hand, thinks that in this situation, avoidance is the best path to follow. The next day, the Royal Highness comes to speak to Dal-i. However, Dal-i tells that she is busy and she is not interested in the lecture about choosing a royal concubine. While eating, Dal-i tells everyone to leave so that only Yi-kang remains.

However, Yi-kang leaves, ruining Dal-i’s plans. Yi-kang keeps avoiding Dal-i every time she tries to speak to him. Yi-kang finally catches Dal-i and takes her to discuss the issue. Dal-i tells others that Yi-kang will be helping with the Gyesa Year Incident. Yi-kang then asks about Qing. He finds out that Jimpo Birdy owner’s son, is alive, which is a lie that Je-woon tells. Right then, the Qing boy enters the room. He begins to ask Je-woon about his lie, which Je-woon tries to evade.

Because Dal-i knew the language, she also understood the situation. Though Je-woon tries to tell Dal-i that he had reason to do it, Yi-kang understands the truth. As this episode of Moon Rivers progresses, the political complications get further intriguing. Yi-kang, on the other hand, gets upset about the situation. He tries to avoid his emotions, but Dal-i sees right through his tough act.

Dal-i tells Yi-kang that it is okay to lean on someone when he is feeling down. The next day, Je-woon decides to speak to Yi-kang again despite being named as the traitor. Je-woon tells Dal-i that he has proof that the Left State Councillor has the Jimjo. Je-woon then gives Dal-i the book, which contains everything that the boy told Je-woon about the Jimjo. However, Je-woon asks to spare U-hui’s life in exchange for the book.

Soulswapped Yi-kang then goes to ask Je-woon about his betrayal. However, Je-woon tells him that he could not decide whom to choose. Yi-kang then decides that their next step would be to find Jimjo and expose its owner. As this episode of Moon River progresses, the court lady finds the letters.

She then takes some poisonous snakes and other insects and throws them inside the cage. Right then, Han-chul arrives at the location. She begins to ask for his forgiveness and even shows him the letters that she found in Dal-i’s room. Han-chul then tells her that she should make the letters look as if they were addressed to Je-woon, which she promptly agrees to.

On the other hand, in Moon River, Yi-kang and Dal-i search for the masked man. They get a lead through an old woman. At the end of this episode in Moon River, Yi-kang is captured for punishment because of her affair with Je-woon, while Dal-i learns about Yi-kang’s true feelings for her. Dal-i then tells the dowager queen, as Yi-kang, that she is prepared to take Dal-i as a concubine.

This episode ends with a devastating note, as Yi-kang gets punished for the crimes. Dal-i arrives to stop Yi-kang from getting punished further, but gets whipped, which causes her to bleed. With the intertwining of Yi-kang and Dal-i’s blood, their souls get swapped back to normal. Dal-i’s soul returns to her body, and Yi-kang’s soul returns to his.
