The element of fantasy, along with political intrigue in this series, combine to form a truly interesting storyline. The end of the eighth episode created quite an intriguing situation. Viki becomes the streaming platform for Moon River. It cannot be denied that the fresh takes on the aspect of soul swapping in this K-drama are definitely worth appreciating. There are numerous K-dramas with this concept. However, this K-drama takes it to a completely different level with its authentic depiction.

Moon River’s storyline is replete with both political struggles that are often present in historical stories, along with a subtle touch of romance as well. The slow and steady development in the relationship between Yi-kang and Dal-i brings forth a level of distinct authenticity. The very talented Kang Tae-oh helms the role of Yi-kang.

It cannot be denied that all of his performances resonate deeply with the viewers because he is able to fully embody the roles he takes on. His recent project, The Potato Lab, earlier this year, also received an immense positive response. Some of Kang Tae-oh's other notable projects that definitely deserve a place in your watchlist are Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Doom at Your Service, The Tale of Nokdu, etc.

The role of Dal-i, whose life gets completely transformed after her encounter with Yi-kang, is helmed by Kim Se-jeong. Kim Se-jeong comes with a distinct ability to bring both complex and lighthearted moments to life with her performance in a nuanced manner. Through the multiple projects that she takes on, each and every project depicts her versatility. In the series, the way she captures the complete transformation when Yi-kang’s soul gets transferred into Dal-i’s body is truly worth appreciating.

Viewers can distinctly understand the difference in the behavior of Yi-kang and Dal-i. The credit to depict such a masterful performance goes to Kim Se-jeong. Some of her other projects are Brewing Love, Today's Webtoon, Business Proposal, The Uncanny Counter, etc.

As Moon River progresses, it can be understood that Lee Shin-young’s performance as Yi-woon is quite crucial. He navigates through the dilemma of choosing sides, which is perfectly captured by Lee Shin-young’s performance in Moon River. Just as in his performance in projects such as Captivating the King, Dr. Romantic, Crash Landing on You, etc., his performance in this series also captures the depth of the situations that his character goes through.

In Moon River, Hong Su-zu’s U-hui also takes on a crucial role, especially because of Yi-woon’s dilemma. Hong Su-zu’s other projects include The Impossible Heir, Lovestruck in the City, Sweet Home, etc.

The other cast members of the series include Jin Goo, Kim Nam-hee, Park Ah-in, Kwon Joo-seok, etc. At the end of the eighth episode, things get complicated for Yi-kang and Dal-i. Yi-kang tries to hide his feelings for Dal-i. Yet he is no longer able to do it.

When the Jimjo was about to attack, Yi-kang had no other option but to kill it. Dal-i begins to regret that their plan is now ruined because of her. However, Yi-kang reassures her. It can be understood that the next episode of Moon River will be taking the stakes higher and also showing the progress in Yi-kang and Dal-i’s relationship.
