Mosquito, an upcoming Hulu show written by Tony McNamara, will be bringing back Nicholas Hoult and Daisy Edgar-Jones to Hulu. Hoult received high praise for his portrayal of Peter III of Russia and Yemelyan Pugachev in Hulu's The Great, while Edgar-Jones is still talked about for her performance in the limited series Normal People.

Nicholas Hoult and Daisy Edgar-Jones have been cast to play Ed and Kate, respectively, in Mosquito. The show has just received its series order and will have six episodes.

More about Mosquito starring Nicholas Hoult and Daisy Edgar-Jones

The upcoming show will focus on Ed and Kate, a couple who got married recently. One would expect their life to be blissful right after getting married, but soon their personal secrets come to light. Gradually, they come to realize the realities of each other, and that all happens because of one mosquito. But it's bound to be not just any mosquito, since the show is named after it. The show is set to be a comedy-drama, and hence it will likely explore the different layers of a new marriage from a humorous lens.

Fans of Daisy Edgar-Jones, who was heartbroken by the ending of Normal People, will be able to see her in a show where she gets married and might as well stay happily married by the end of it. Hoult is known for his comedic work, as seen in The Great, and along with Edgar-Jones, is known for the depth she brings to each of her characters. Thus, they'll be an interesting duo to watch in a comedy drama. Hoult is also set to star in How to Rob a Bank (2026) and Superman: Man of Tomorrow (2026). Edgar-Jones is also set to star in Sense and Sensibility (2026), A Place in Hell (2026), and Here Comes the Flood.

Mosquito will begin filming in 2026. As of now, only Hoult and Edgar-Jones have been cast for the show. The supporting cast is yet to be revealed. The show is executive produced by Tony McNamara, Nicholas Hoult, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Marian Macgowan, Tracy Underwood, and Daniel Pipski. The production companies behind the show are 20th Television, Piggy Ate Roast Beef Productions, and Hustle & Punch.

As Deadline reported, Tony McNamara spoke about the show's leading cast members, saying,

“I’m thrilled and excited to work with and team up two of the best actors around,”

He continued,

"I can’t wait to go make absurd comedy with them.”
