Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions has released the first audiobook of the series on November 4, 2025, and the next one, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, will be released on December 16, 2025. Ahead of that, Audible has released a behind-the-scenes video, giving us a glimpse at how the story was brought to life. The entire team that has worked tirelessly to produce Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions talked about the cast, the story, how the audiobooks were made, and some highlights. Some of the cast members shared their experiences as well. Here's all that happened behind the magic. What the Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions BTS video revealedThe Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions BTS video features the actors who voice almost all the main characters of the novels. Throughout the video, one feeling that has been unanimously expressed by all cast members is that it was a very engaging and immersive experience. They were all allowed to physically express whatever their characters were doing (within limits) to voice those parts perfectly. This makes it easier for listeners to know exactly what's happening in the story, even when they can't see anything. As Simon Pegg, who voices Arthur Weasley, said,"It's the most exciting version of the books ever."The Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions production team praised the cast, saying they were incredible in their performances. Each emotion, whether it is a sigh, a gasp, or a laugh, was expressed exactly as it is in the books. This was very important since, for the first time, each character of the story is being voiced by a different actor, and since the Wizarding World is a highly interesting one, it is essential that the dialogue and sounds portray the story and emotions accurately.Coming to the technology, the creative team mentioned that all seven audiobooks have been produced in Dolby Atmos, and they brought in multiple audio directors since they had to produce more than 130 hours of storytelling featuring over 200 characters. When it came to the adult casting, the crew went for some of the best in the industry. When it came to casting the younger voice actors, the production team went to over seven schools in the UK and Ireland and took over 1000 auditions. In Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions, the golden trio is voiced by Frankie Treadaway as Harry Potter, Max Lester as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger in books one, two, and three. Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker-Francis have voiced Harry, Ron, and Hermione from books four to seven. The Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions BTS video revealed that Jumbo was chosen as a narrator for her gravitas, as that is what would help listeners imagine. While the voice actors playing the characters had to express every emotion and reaction, the narrator had to be someone who couldn't do that, and Jumbo understood that job well. One interesting detail the Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions BTS video revealed is how they made Max Lester and Rhys Mulligan interact. They let Mulligan watch Lester record his scenes to understand Ron Weasley better, so that he could understand how to transform young Ron into a slightly older Ron. Besides that, the production team did a chemistry test to make sure the trio's voices went together, and the voices of the younger and older cast would match or seem very similar. Besides that, when it came to reaching the fans and staying close to the source material, the Audible team worked closely with Potternore. "that we associate with Albus Dumbledore. Matthew MacFadyen voices Voldemort, and the production team revealed that"McFayden was absolutely terrifying as Voldemort."This is quite evident from the snippets we get to see of McFayden recording his dialogues. Another interesting fact the Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions BTS video revealed is that the crew made sure that all the cast members playing Weasley family members learnt to speak in the West Country. That ensured that no matter where the actors actually belonged from, they all sounded like they came from the same family.Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions is one of a kind, which took seven months to record, and even longer to edit and make it ready for release. While the crew was definitely passionate about the project, many of the voice actors were deeply invested in the story as well, since they were once fans of the franchise.
