What is Mr. & Mrs. Murder about?
The docuseries chronicles the murder of Mike Williams. Mike and his wife, Denise Williams, were close friends with a couple, Kathy and Brian Winchester. The group often went on outings together and were so tightly knit that they even planned their children together. However, things changed on December 16, 2000, when Mike went on a duck hunting trip and did not return.
While the initial investigation suspected no foul play, Brian later divorced Kathy and got married to Denise. It later came out that Mike’s death was not accidental but was the result of a sinister plot.
The documentary is going to feature interviews with people related to the case, including relatives and friends of the two couples. The law enforcement officials will also reveal how the investigation was carried out in the case. At the center of the narrative will be Kathy, who will be recounting the horror for the first time on camera. The official synopsis of the show reads:
“Mr. & Mrs. Murder follows the twisted story of two close-knit couples in Tallahassee, Florida — Kathy and Brian Winchester, and their childhood friends Mike and Denise Williams. Devout Baptists who shared a love for the outdoors, the couples did everything together, even planning their children’s births months apart.”
“But on December 16, 2000, their world turned upside down when Mike vanished during a duck hunting trip on Lake Seminole. With no body found, many believed he had drowned or was eaten by alligators. Years later, suspicions grew after Brian and Kathy divorced, and Brian married Denise.”
The series has been directed by Michael Beach Nichols, who also serves as an executive producer along with Beth Hoppe, Stuart Cabb, and Tom Pearson. David Sloan acts as the senior executive producer. The production companies include Plum Pictures and ABC News Studios.
