Mr. Robot Season 1 Episode 6 recap: A tragic death, Vera’s jail breakout, and more

Episode 6 of Mr. Robot season 1, titled " eps. 1.5_br4ve-trave1er.asf," was one of the heartbreaking episodes of the thriller series. As seen at the beginning of the episode, Shayla had been kidnapped by Vera’s men in order to force Elliot to break him out of jail.

While Elliot plans to hack Vera out of jail, Angela tries to plot her own plan to bring down the E Corp. Even after Mr. Robot’s warnings, Elliot breaks Vera out of jail and witnesses the death of one of his close ones, shattering him.

The episode also sees Tyrell and his wife’s attempt to impress Scott Knowles, who has become the new CTO of E Corp.

Mr. Robot Season 1 Episode 6 recap: Vera blackmails Elliot

The episode begins with Elliot promising Shayla that he would save her. With the help of his men, Vera talks to Elliot and tells him to get him out of jail by threatening Shayla’s life.

However, the first plan fails as Darlene’s thumb drives, which she had dropped near the police station with malware that would help Elliot hack their system, were detected. He then meets with her while taking Flipper for a walk and tells her that he couldn’t hack their system.

Before their talks finish, one of Vera’s men, who was sitting inside Elliot’s apartment, comes outside and apprehends them.

Mr. Robot Season 1 Episode 6 recap: Angela plans to bring E Corp down

While everyone has their own plan for bringing E Corp down, Angela also begins hers in this episode of Mr. Robot season 1. She begins calling all the lawyers who represented the victims of the Washington Township scandal.

Only one of the lawyers gets back to her and tells her that she doesn’t have enough evidence to bring the company down. Angela needs an eyewitness to the toxic spill to hold the company accountable for its actions. She then meets with Elliot and tells him that she has a plan to destroy the company, but Elliot is too preoccupied with other matters and tells her that whatever she is trying to do is right and that she should continue.

Elsewhere, Tyrell and his wife go to meet the new CTO of E Corp, Scott Knowles, and his wife. He tries to convince Scott to hire him as his right-hand man, but Scott confronts him, as he knows Tyrell wanted to be in that position. He also tells him that his wife told him all about their absurd encounter in the bathroom.

Mr. Robot Season 1 Episode 6 recap: Elliot finds Shayla

After their first failed attempt in episode 6 of Mr. Robot season 1, Elliot decides that he has to be there to get Vera out of jail. The new plan involves releasing everyone from prison so that no one can be traced back to Elliot for the breakout. Even after Mr. Robot’s warning not to help Vera, Elliot still goes ahead with his plan.

While hacking the system to break Vera out, Elliot also hacks Vera’s brother, Isaac’s phone, and threatens Vera that if he hurts him or Shayla, his entire drug empire will come crashing down. The plan begins at 9.49 p.m., with Isaac waiting with Elliot to kill Vera as he gets out, but it is Vera who orders his other henchman, DJ, to kill his own brother, resulting in a shocking death.

Vera then tells Elliot that he can destroy his operation as he is disappearing to an unknown location, and when he asks about Shayla, Vera hands him the keys. As Elliot opens the truck, he discovers Shayla’s body, depicting one of the heartbreaking moments of Mr. Robot season 1.
