Hulu's true crime mini series Murdaugh: Death in the Family climbed up to the No.1 spot on Hulu in its debut week. It delves into the life of the disgraced South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh, who was accused of killing his son and wife in June 2021 and later of several financial frauds. His older brother, Randolph Randy Murdaugh IV, claimed that he was unaware of Alex's financial crimes and drug addiction. According to the Parker Law Group website, he's presently working as a lawyer. John Marvin Murdaugh is the youngest of them all. They also have an older sister, Lynn.

Here's more about the Murdaugh brothers and their family.

Murdaugh: Death in the Family- Who are the Murdaugh brothers and where are they now?

The Murdaugh brothers consist of the three sons of Libby and Randolph III. This includes the former South Carolina attorney and convicted murderer, Alex, and his older brother, Randolph Randy Murdaugh IV, who is currently associated with the Parker Law Group. Apart from them, they also have a younger brother, John Marvin Murdaugh, and an older sister, Lynn Murdaugh Goette, both of whom have been supportive of Alex during his trials.

A quick look at their family history tells that the Murdaugh brothers come from a well-established and privileged background. The brothers' association with the law is no mere coincidence, but it's more of carrying the family legacy forward. Why? The Murdaugh brothers come from a powerful legal family based in South Carolina. Three generations worked hard to build the legacy, which includes Randolph Murdaugh, Murdaugh Jr., and Randolph Murdaugh III, and they all served as elected solicitor.

Randolph Murdaugh built a law firm called Peters, Murdaugh, Parker, Eltzroh & Detrick, which is now renamed to Parker Law Group.

Randolph Murdaugh IV: He's the eldest son of Libby and Randolph III. After graduating with a law degree in 1991, he joined the family firm that is almost 100 years old. According to the Parker Law Group website, he specializes in dealing with injury and death cases and is one of the popular attorneys in the area. He's currently based in Hampton, where he lives with his wife and his daughters.

Here's what he said in a statement after they found out about Alex's financial fraud. He stated (via Bluffton Today)

"I was shocked, just as the rest of my PMPED family, to learn of my brother, Alex’s, drug addiction and stealing of money. I love my law firm family and also love Alex as my brother. While I will support him in his recovery, I do not support, condone, or excuse his conduct in stealing by manipulating his most trusted relationships. "

Alex Murdaugh: Like his older brother Randolph IV, he also graduated from the University of South Carolina and joined the family law firm. Things took an ugly turn in 2021 when he was accused of killing his son and wife and later of financial misdealings. He had to resign from the firm in September 2021. He stated (via Bluffton Today),

"The murders of my wife and son have caused an incredibly difficult time in my life. I have made a lot of decisions that I truly regret. I’m resigning from my law firm and entering rehab after a long battle that has been exacerbated by these murders."

Alex was then charged with the murders of his son and wife, and after a lengthy six-week trial, he was found guilty of the double murders. Alex was sentenced to two life sentences with no chance of parole. Apart from that, for his financial misdealings, he was sentenced to 27 years, and for 22 other federal charges, he was sentenced to another 40 years (via CNN).

Currently, Alex is serving his sentence at a prison in South Carolina.

John Marvin Murdaugh: The youngest of the Randolph siblings, like his brother, he too graduated with a law degree from the University of South Carolina. However, instead of joining the firm, he chose a different career. He founded two rental companies. He attended most of Alex's trials and backed him entirely with his testimonials.
