Panic ensues, and she does not understand what she should do.

Now, right after Denise hits Garret, she calls her sister for moral support and advice. Her sister, Marita, tells Denise that they need to dispose of the body. Rather, his death came long after that moment, and that too in a gruesome manner. After Denise and Marita decide to put Garret’s motionless body in his car’s trunk, thinking that they would be able to pin his murder on the shady people with whom Garret was involved, they decided to search for Garret’s money.

However, they were soon faced with another challenge. On the other hand, the police get a whiff of the case already as they find the car with blood in it. However, when the car was searched, Garret’s body was nowhere to be found. Karl soon understands with his distinct instinct that Garret was inside the car and was later moved. He is absolutely right, as Garret’s body is later found in a boat that is completely burned down.

The body is identified. It is Garret’s. After further investigation, it is revealed that Garret’s death was due to smoke inhalation and not the blunt force with which he was hit by Denise. His body was also strewn with multiple stab wounds. This further complicated the case. During the investigation, the police found out about Garret’s connections in the illegal world. However, a breakthrough in the Garret murder case comes when Laila finds out about CCTV footage of Garret long after he was hit in the head.

In the footage, Garret was seen speaking with Susan Baylor, with whom he was having an affair, and wanted her to give him shelter. However, Susan Baylor refused, which led Garret to his eventual fate. However, the presence of Susan in the footage soon led Karl and his team members to get more information about Garret’s murder case.

They soon find out that Susan is connected with his murder, and she used Renny Dufresne to get rid of Garret completely. Soon, Renny’s connection with the case is proved, and he is taken into custody.

In the end, Denise also gives up the bag filled with money to the police. The first episode of Murder in a Small Town Season 2 ends with the revelation of the truth about Garret’s murder. The intense nature of this episode sets the tone for the upcoming episodes of Murder in a Small Town Season 2.
