A quick recap of Murder in a Small Town Season 2 Episode 7

Murder in a Small Town Season 2 Episode 7 featured a double kidnapping case that took an emotional toll on Karl and his understaffed police force. The team raced against time to rescue a kid named Benji and his babysitter but Karl eventually realized that the kidnapping was just a distraction for a bigger heist. Thanks to Phyllis' blind date, she learned about a big auction at the Gibson Club. Karl and his team duly arrived on the scene, putting an end to the kidnapper's schemes to steal the auction's valuables and also rescue Benji.

In the final moments of the episode, Karl learned that Cassandra had vetoed Mayor Christie Holman's proposal, which directly led to no funding for Karl and his team. Elsewhere, Sid's daughter asked him to pick her up from an out-of-town party. Since he was already exhausted, he fell asleep behind the wheel and ran off the side of the road.
