Crime drama lovers are excited for Murder in a Small Town Season 2, and to make it even more interesting than the first chapter, the makers have expanded the cast with some of the most talented actors. This means that Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk's main characters will now face some new people.

Camryn Manheim as Jocelyn Tait: While complete details about Jocelyn aren't revealed, she belongs to a working-class family. This suggests that Manheim's character is a strong woman.

Tyler Posey as Ryan: Posey's character highlights change. The man who once loved partying and fun is now aiming for peace and more focus in life.

Jamie Chung as Lanni Soo: Chung's Lanni in Murder in a Small Town Season 2 will be seen as a no-nonsense and ambitious Deputy Prosecuting Attorney General.

Sara Canning as Mackenzie Rankin: Rankin is a woman dealing with the loss of her younger sister and will invite the town's people to join her at a memorial event.

Fox previously confirmed that Murder in a Small Town will be back for Season 2. As mentioned above, the next chapter will come out on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 8/7c.

As for the plot, Gibson will remain the heart of the show. However, Karl won't just solve isolated cases, as he will also focus on a larger story involving multiple killings connected to unsolved crimes from the last ten years. While Karl solves them, Cassandra will help him piece everything together.

The two had a heartfelt kiss by the end of Season 1, after which their bond is expected to be stronger. At the same time, Cassandra was willing to run for the councilwoman while Karl is carrying out the responsibilities of a police chief.
