Creator Jake Wyatt has recently shared an exciting update on My Adventures with Superman Season 3, a popular animated Elseworlds DC show, that made its debut on Adult Swim in July 2023.

Following the expansion of James Gunn's DC Universe timeline, it seemed like the franchise had lost its focus on Elseworlds shows, which exist outside of the established DC Universe continuity. However, proving that DC is committed to expanding on the Superman lore outside of the main timeline, Wyatt recently confirmed that season 3 of the popular Elseworlds show could hit our TV screens soon.

After Man of Steel's recent live-action theatrical run, My Adventures with Superman Season 3 is expected to be Krypton's last son's best animated adventure. The animated series follows Clark Kent's early days as he builds his secret identity as a superhero, while working as a reporter with Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen in the city of Metropolis.

More on this in our story.

Jake Wyatt confirms that My Adventures with Superman Season 3 is in post-production

The animated series premiered its season 2 finale, titled My Adventures with Supergirl, on July 21, 2024, and the show was also renewed for Season 3.

Coming right off the season 2 finale, while the cast and creative team teased some details about My Adventures with Superman Season 3 at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, nothing further was announced until recently.

On Thursday, when an X user asked about the future of the animated show:

''What about My Adventures With Superman?''

Wyatt replied:

''In post-production.''

Wyatt's response confirms that pre-production on the show is currently in progress, and it could likely return on Adult Swim and HBO Max after a hiatus.

While this is good news for the show's fans, it still does not confirm My Adventures with Superman Season 3's release date window. Depending on the progress, the animated series can either release its new season in late 2025 or early 2026.

My Adventures with Superman Season 3 will introduce Superboy

Co-created by Wyatt, Brendan Clougher, and Josie Campbell, the animated show is led by an A-list voice cast, which includes Jack Quaid as Clark Kent /Superman, Alice Lee as Lois Lane, and Ishmel Sahid as Jimmy Olsen.

Season 3 will add another exciting character into the fold, who is none other than writer Karl Kesel and artist Tom Grummett's Superboy. The cast and creative team present at SDCC 2024 unveiled that Boy of Steel will make his much-awaited debut in My Adventures with Superman Season 3.

Since the animated show leans heavily into Superman's early days and his Kryptonian family, which also saw the introduction of Supergirl in Season 2, it is only befitting that Superboy makes his exciting debut in the upcoming season of the animated show.

While the voice actor and version of this Superboy are still not revealed by the creators, fans are already excited to see the metahuman clone on the small screen again. Debuting in The Adventures of Superman #500, Superboy is a character from DC Comics, designed by Paul Westfield of Project Cadmus as an equivalent to Superman.

Following Superman's war with Brainiac (Michael Emerson) in Season 2, Superboy's introduction will shed light on more Superman lore, and their exciting team-up is certainly worth waiting for.
