NBC is set to come up with a new comedy series, Hotel Sofia, with The Big Bang Theory writers Maria Ferrari and Andy Gordon. The series will revolve around a hotel owner as she sets on a journey to revamp her life. Susan Rovner is set to executive produce the show under the banner Aha Studios. Rovner was previously the president of Warner Bros. TV, under which the writers had worked on The Big Bang Theory.
NBC’s Hotel Sofia is currently in works
As per Deadline, the upcoming series will follow a female expatriate in Greece who runs a hotel where American foreign exchange students reside. The hotel owner is trying to deal with personal life challenges, and trying to build her life through the business venture. The cast and other details of the show is still under wraps. The series will be a multi-camera sitcom.
Rovner had launched her production company Aha Studios last year, and Hotel Sofia is the latest addition to it. She is also part of projects such as CBS’s America’s Culinary Cup and The Fishbowl.
Maria Ferrari and Andy Gordon, who have both worked on the hit series The Big Bang Theory, have successfully established themselves in the world of television with their many notable works.
Ferrari’s list of works as writer and executive producer includes Young Sheldon, Call Me Kat and The United States of Al. Gordon has been part of many hit shows including Just Shoot Me!, Mad About You, True Jackson, Back to You, and Last Man Standing. He was also part of ABC’s Modern Family as co-executive producer and writer.
