From the very first episode of this season, we see Gibbs struggling a lot because of Lala’s accident. Austin Stowell perfectly handles Gibbs’ emotional state, making it truly authentic. Similarly, Mariel Molino’s performance as Lala is also commendable. This season is making Lala go through difficulty in getting back into her job in a full-fledged manner.

Her accident has left a distinct impact on her, which is slowly coming to light in the episodes of NCIS: Origins Season 2. Kyle Schmid’s Mike’s harsh exterior is often misjudged. However, at his core, he is genuinely dedicated to his job and the people close to him. In NCIS: Origins Season 2, Episode 3, we see Mike facing emotional distress.

This is revealed after Mallard’s arrival. Initially, Mike is seen constantly lashing out at people. It can be understood that his emotional state is not good. He is worried about his dog’s well-being as well. His dog's health is deteriorating. After Mallard arrives, he informs him that dogs often mimic their owners. Mike reveals his worries about his elder brother.

In the fourth episode of NCIS: Origins, it can be expected that Mike will be diving into his familial issues with his brother. He solves people’s issues easily and even solves cases with distinct intellect. Initially, because of his idea of thawing the dead body, the evidence is lost. However, soon his abilities come in handy when he wittily uses the tooth filling of the victim and uses it to find the evidence.

We have to wait for yet another week to see how the characters navigate through the new challenges in their lives. Each and every episode of this season is pushing the boundaries of the characters. The high-stakes drama, along with the character development, is creating a storyline worth watching.
