He loves spending time with his family on this special occasion. But this year turned out to be entirely unique. The team received a call about a murder on his birthday morning.

They reached an abandoned house, commonly referred to as a "roach house." Inside, they discovered the body of Marine Sergeant Henry Aldrin. The crime sequence looked staged and ritualistic.

Randy encountered personal struggles throughout the day. His personal computer got damaged by accident. The case is connected to an unsolved crime from years ago. By the end, everyone understood why Howard did what he did.

The crime sequence

The team arrives at the abandoned house and finds Sergeant Henry Aldrin lying dead inside. The setup resembled a Santeria ritual, complete with symbols and blood everywhere.

But actual Santeria rituals never include human sacrifice. Someone clearly manufactured this scene. Henry had dealt with addiction for years. He injured his back during a case and got prescribed painkillers. Those pills led him to heroin.

The addiction got the worst of him, and he probably came to his home while looking for drugs. An anonymous tip brought the team to the sequence. Someone wanted authorities to look for Henry.
