NCIS: Tony and Ziva Episode 1, 2 & 3 recap – The couple share some heartfelt moments amid being declared fugitives

NCIS: Tony and Ziva is an action drama show that is a spinoff of the original NCIS. The show airs on Paramount+ and features Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo, and others. While Weatherly stars as Anthony/Tony DiNozzo, Pablo stars as Ziva David.

NCIS: Tony and Ziva has one season and aired recently on September 4, 2025. With this new spinoff, the NCIS franchise has added another show under its wings. Some other spinoffs of the original show include, NCIS: Hawa’i’, NCIS: Los Angeles, and others.

NCIS: Tony and Ziva is about the two titular characters, who are former NCIS agents and the spinoff will focus around the events that shaped their storyline. In the series, Tony, Ziva, and their daughter, Tali, will be forced to go on the run in Europe, as they try to find out who is after them.

NCIS: Tony and Ziva has aired three episodes till now and here is a quick recap.

Details about NCIS: Tony and Ziva Episode 1, 2, & 3

The first episode is titled “No Country is Safe” and viewers see Tony and Ziva as an unofficial couple who are co-parenting their daughter Tali. Ziva teaches language and Tony has a security firm. One of his clients is the Interpol and they suffer from a security breach which leads to Tony and his assistant Claudette to interfere. Finally, they prevent half of the threat and get the device they used but the perpetrators are able to steal several million.

The criminals in NCIS: Tony and Ziva now need the USB device and they breach Tony’s firm. The criminal also warns Tony about Tali and Ziva is also therefore alerted about their daughter’s safety. On the other hand, Ziva is taking treatment for PTSD and she and Tony decide to send Tali away with a military-experienced babysitter and focus on the danger. Tony tracks the USB to a hospital and the criminals wants ransom money otherwise they would switch of the hospital’s power and threaten patient’s lives. Ziva helps the hospital pay the ransom and Tony tries to stop the criminals, however, he is injured and meets a mysterious woman.

Towards the end, the hospital problem is solved by paying the ransom and the couple get a call from Claudette who informs that due to the thieves stealing money from Interpol, the two will now have to clear their names and find the culprits. Claudette is able to track one of the hackers and the two begin their hunt.

In the second episode, titled, “No Friend of Mine”, Boris is the person who hacked and he does not take responsibility for what his clients do with his technology. The couple interrogate Boris and his fiancé Fruzsi also arrives and supports him. Then, they are interrupted by the Interpol and the mystery woman is revealed to be an agent with them called Martine. Brois, her fiancé, and Tony and Ziva, escape through the back and find a house to hide in. Boris reveals that he found another hacker that worked with him online and finds him in Italy.

Then the episode goes into a flashback and Ziva reveals that she cannot date due to her mental health. Further, Henry tries to get the two former agents to Interpol but they refuse as they want to be with Tali. In the present, the couple spy on the second hacker and they are chased by self-driving cars. When the hacker is killed by one of the cars, the couple escapes.

Boris in NCIS: Tony and Ziva says that his technology was used to gain access to cars and turn them into weapons and also tells that Secretary General of Interpol, Jonah has disappeared and Henry is in-charge of the Interpol. Tony wants Henry’s help but Ziva is hesitant. They gain access to the cameras on the site where Jonah went missing and Claudette also joins as Interpol broke into her apartment when she was on the phone with Tali’s babysitter Sophie. Ziva allows Tony the chance to prove that Henry is reliable and Tony meets Henry alone but Henry has other agents in hiding. Claudette and Boris inform that Martine was not alone and the 9.4 malware was used on a private defense contractor called Reigning Fire.

The third episode is titled, “Cover Story” and the couple go to Reigning Fire and a huge explosion occurs where military drones were kept. The couple escape but their faces are picked up by the head of Reigning Fire and he shows that to Henry and wants to arrest them as he thinks that the couple caused the fire.

Tony and Ziva seek refuge in a vacation cabin that Tony’s girlfriend Nicole owns and Nicole comes home with her husband Max and Tony did not know about this. To fend off the suspicion of an affair, Tony and Ziva acts as a couple and find out that Max is in law enforcement.

Another flashback happens in NCIS: Tony and Ziva and the couple are on a date. On the other hand, Boris, Claudette and Fruzsi have an argument. At the cabin, Max reveals that he knows about Tony’s affair with his wife and he is annoyed that they didn’t invite him. When Mex gets a fugitive alert notification, a fight happens and Tony and Ziva lock up the other couple and flee. The two decide to get Martine out and Tony and Ziva share a heartfelt moment together.
