NCIS: Tony & Ziva Episode 8 recap- A wedding flashback turns into a panic spiral

The episode opens with a flashback. Five years ago, Tony and Ziva were planning for their wedding, and what began as a simple conversation regarding the guest list turned into something much heavier. The conflict? Tony wants to include everyone in the wedding, while Ziva prefers a more intimate guest list.

She breathes heavily, looking at the list, and becomes nervous. As they argue, Ziva zones out. When Tony asks if she's fine, she tells him that she needs a little space.

It turns out Ziva isn't comfortable with crowds. It's almost like a lingering scar from years of trauma. Cote de Pablo's performance in these scenes is deeply felt. Later, Tony reveals his insecurities to his best friend, Henry. He fears that he's rushing into stability that he hasn't fully earned. Both conversations end in doubt, each wondering if they were ready for their vows.

NCIS: Tony & Ziva Episode 8- Operation Fire Sale and chaos in Paris

Cut to the present, Tony and Ziva are framed for a crime they didn't commit, and they are finally closing in on Jonah, the mastermind behind it all.

With help from Claudette and Boris, they trace vital evidence, a damning video hidden in the Reigning Fire drone servers. The drone was overhead when Jonah killed Henry. The only problem: Stealing it from inside a high-tech weapons convention in Paris.

It's a classic NCIS setup. Tony slips into disguise, a smooth-talking security expert like a seasoned spy, while Ziva, Claudette, and Boris execute the break-in. What follows is a sharp chaos: Claudette's awkward encounter with a frenemy, Freda cloning an access card, Boris's attempt at distraction, and Tony's charm covering their tracks.

Elsewhere, Martine confronts Jonah over footage showing Tali being attacked. Martine was now growing suspicious of her partner's motives. Jonah asks for her forgiveness. Martine, however, is still doubtful, and Jonah assures her by saying:

"Tomorrow we kill Graves. Destroy Reigning Fire."

NCIS: Tony & Ziva Episode 8: When the plan explodes

Just as the plan seems solid, things get complicated. Martine and hacker Dejan reach the servers first, hijacking their mission for their own vendetta. Claudette pivots quickly, realizing they can hack the drone itself. What follows is a hilarious and nerve-wracking sequence where Tony must manually navigate a tablet while Claudette feeds him instructions through small talks with Freda. Tony manages to extract the audio of the encounter.

NCIS: Tony & Ziva Episode 8: Aaron Graves' newest deadly weapon creates chaos

Aaron Graves unveils his company's newest weapon, a robotic animal (GNR-48313 or Gunner, as Graves calls it) built to lock onto and eliminate human targets. But Jonah hijacks the system, turning the deadly machine on Tony, Ziva, and their team.

Ziva and Boris take out Dejan, but Martine flips the script, escaping with the stolen drive (9.4). Tony ducks behind cover as the robotic animal tears through the convention floor, bullets and bodies scattering. Amid the chaos, Ziva's trauma resurfaces. Her breathing gets quicker, sounds distorted, a panic attack that mirrors the one from her wedding memories. Using the therapist's grounding technique, Ziva pulls herself back to the present.

Graves shuts down the system with an EMP, neutralizing the animal but erasing all the evidence they fought to secure.

In the closing moments of the episode, Jonah betrays Martine, stealing the crucial data chip and leaving her stranded. She responds with fury and points a gun at Dejan. Meanwhile, Tony races after Jonah as Ziva and Claudette are forced to flee.

The end of the episode leaves fans gasping for more.
