Netflix greenlit All The Sinners Bleed, a series adaptation of S.A. Crosby's 2023 Southern crime fiction thriller of the same name. The nine-episode TV adaptation was picked up back in May, and casting for the series has been ongoing. Two brand-new names have been added as series regulars.

The crime thriller is set to follow the first Black sheriff of a Bible Belt county:

"Haunted by his devout mother’s untimely death, the first Black sheriff in a small Bible Belt county must lead the hunt for a serial killer who has quietly been preying on his Black community for years in the name of God."

After Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù and John Douglas Thompson were added to the cast of All the Sinners Bleed as series regulars, Daniel Ezra and Andrea Cortés have been added as the latest series regulars.

Here's everything we know.

All the Sinners Bleed was a New York Times bestseller, and Joe Robert Cole, co-writer for Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, will be serving as the writer, showrunner, and executive producer. He is also set to direct the premiere and other episodes, which are set to follow Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù as Titus Crown as he tries to hunt down a serial killer in a rural country who has been targeting the local Black community for years while battling with the grief of his mother's death.

The Netflix adaptation recently cast Daniel Ezra and Andrea Cortés as series regulars. Daniel Ezra is set to play Marquis Crown, Titus' brother, whereas Andrea Cortés is set to play Deputy Carla Ortiz. Deputy Carla Ortiz is a colleague of Titus at his precinct.

Talking about her casting, Cortés revealed:

"As an avid reader who loves crime and mystery novels, I am super excited about being part of All the Sinners Bleed. As an artist, I am looking forward to exploring the various themes the novel touches on and working with this lovely creative team to take those themes from the paper to the screen. My callback with Joe Robert Cole was exhilarating, and I feel lucky to be working with someone who I believe will feel as passionate as I do about bringing the character of Carla Ortiz to life."

These castings will join John Douglas Thompson from The Gilded Age and Mare of Easttown as Titus' father, Albert Crown, and Nicole Beharie from The Morning Show and Miss Juneteenth as Darlene Taylor, Titus' supporting girlfriend.

All the Sinners Bleed has been executive-produced by Amblin Television, Cosby, and Higher Ground Productions, the production company founded by former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. It's definitely not a coincidence that the novel that was a part of the 2023 Summer Reading List from the former president was later executive-produced by his production company.

Nevertheless, the series is yet to go into production, so with most probability, All the Sinners Bleed will not premiere until 2026-27.
