Netflix has officially wrapped production for XO, Kitty season 3, sharing the news alongside an exclusive behind-the-scenes (BTS) video taken during the final days of filming in Seoul, South Korea.
The announcement is significant, as the series, a spin-off from the widely recognized To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before films, has attracted global attention with its story set around teen matchmaker Kitty Song Covey. The BTS footage provides the fans with a closer glimpse into the making of the next season, sharing behind-the-scenes moments, cast interactions, and the director's views.
XO, Kitty season 3 is promising to continue the pending storylines and the romantic developments, which were left unexplained after the last season. The production wrap is an indication of movement toward release, now imminent in early 2026.
While the audience awaits the next installment, there is much anticipation for the arrival of new students, dynamic friendships, shifts, and changing relationships at the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS). XO, Kitty season 3 was announced following strong viewership data for Season 2, which premiered in January 2025 and quickly ascended Netflix's global top ten charts.
The wrap video has also created excitement because it provides a glimpse of the rare behind-the-scenes experience of the international cast and crew filming in Seoul.
Production wrap and BTS experience
XO, Kitty season 3 wrapped filming in Seoul, putting an end to an extended production cycle that started back in April 2025 and wrapped in mid-July. Director Michael Medico reports the series was shot across several locations in Seoul to represent the school environment and the bustling culture of the city.
Medico also shared the wrap news on social media, thanking the cast and crew and posting some choice BTS moments of the last days of shooting. The special BTS video from Netflix includes cast members like Anna Cathcart (Kitty), Choi Min-young (Dae), Gia Kim (Yuri), and Sang Heon Lee (Min Ho).
The scenes of friendship, on-location footage, and brief cast and crew interviews show up on screen. These moments exemplify the collaboration needed for a project on this global scale and show the emotional intensity as the story moves toward a critical new season.
XO, Kitty season 3: Plot twists and new characters
Season 3 will resume where Season 2 left off, with Kitty Song Covey returning to KISS for her last year after her scholarship is reinstated by the school. The new season should delve into Kitty's plans, including her unfinished business with Min Ho, whom she seriously contemplates joining for a family music tour, as well as her relationships with Yuri and Dae.
The season finale previously left several questions unanswered, such as Kitty’s romantic direction and the future of her group of friends, ensuring continued audience interest.
Netflix has added three new roles: Sule Thelwell as Marius, Soy Kim as Yisoo, and Christine Hwang as Gigi. Returning are Hojo Shin as Ji-won Ahn, who has become a series regular, and regulars Anna Cathcart, Choi Min-young, Gia Kim, and Sang Heon Lee. Valentina Garza is the XO, Kitty season 3 showrunner, collaborating with series creator Jenny Han.
