As per the mythology, the story entails a long-standing conflict between two opposing factions: one that wants to steer humanity's future through coercion and the other committed to defending free will.The viewers will be launched into key historical moments giving them an immersive experience of times passed. Production is currently targeting a 2026 start, with Italy confirmed as a primary filming location and narrative setting.But like the location, the exact historical period is not yet revealed. Italy holds a significant place within the Assassin’s Creed canon, most famously as the backdrop for the Renaissance-era storyline featuring Ezio Auditore. No official confirmation is available on whether and how much of the mythology from that video game will be picked.
