Netflix’s ONE PIECE: Into the Grand Line live-action series has just dropped the character poster for Mr. 9, pushing hype and anticipation for Season 2 to stellar heights.

Premiering on March 10, 2026, the new installment of Eiichiro Oda’s legendary pirate saga is expected to take viewers on an even wilder voyage. With new allies, twists, and surprises on the way, fans will also meet one of the most standout additions: Mr. 9.

Straw Hat will continue their adventure with a new stake, but the latest season is also expected to bring some freshness. For those uninitiated, the recently added Mr. 9 is a Baroque Works agent. Fans recognize him with his crown, steel bats, and over-the-top confidence.

Mr. 9 fits perfectly into Season 2's exciting line-up. Season 2, titled ONE PIECE: Into the Grand Line, will delve into “fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet” (according to the official synopsis) as Luffy and the crew finally set sail into the Grand Line.

The first season laid the foundation with character introductions. Viewers saw Luffy and the Straw Hat crew revel with heart, laughter, and high-sea chaos. The next chapter aims to take the story to new territories on the horizon and tackle bigger threats.

This ambitious scale is something that many loyal One Piece fans have been manifesting since Season 1 wrapped. Mr. 9's poster builds a slow-running hype train, teasing the quirky yet ruthless gallery of Baroque Works operatives who will collide with the Straw Hats.

Without major spoilers of the story, the character poster drops subtle indications that Mr. 9 will be a memorable part of this ride: crown tilted, bats raised, ready for chaos. With the trailer and poster drops already rolling, it is important to remember that in a conversation with Netflix Tudum, co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer Matt Owens hinted that Dr. Kureha will definitely be part of Season 2.
