Netflix releases the first look of Miles Heizer in the upcoming Boots series

The new Netflix coming-of-age drama Boots takes place in the United States Marine Corps in the 1990s and is mainly based on the book The Pink Marine and follows Miles Heizer's character, Cameron Cope. The first official trailer for Netflix's upcoming series Boots, starring Miles Heizer, has been published. On October 9, 2025, the program will have its international debut. Boots is based on a genuine story from Greg Cope White's memoir The Pink Marine.

It follows Cameron Cope, a young man who joins the US Marine Corps in the 1990s while disguising his sexual orientation. Openly identifying as gay was not permitted in the military at the time. The story follows Cameron as he goes through boot camp, encountering both mental and physical challenges.

Cameron is portrayed by Miles Heizer, who has starred in Parenthood, Love, Simon, and 13 Reasons Why. Ray McAffey, Cameron's best buddy, joins him in the program, and the two go to boot camp together.

Among a large number of new recruits, they try to establish themselves in a difficult and demanding environment. Netflix's first look photographs show intense training, serious chats, and emotional moments. Heizer stated the group became close while filming Boots, describing the experience as "the hardest and most fun thing I've ever been a part of."

Originally titled The Corps, the series was later renamed Boots. It was created by Andy Parker and Jennifer Cecil. This was done with the assistance of legendary television producer Norman Lear, and all the strikes by the performers and authors halted filming, which had begun in 2023.

Production continued in 2024, with the majority of the series shot in New Orleans. Among the many new and familiar characters in the cast are Liam Oh as Ray and Vera Farmiga as Cameron's mother, Barb. Together, the performers powerfully portray a story of bravery, brotherhood, and identity.
