Netflix has dropped the first look at The Beast In Me, a new mystery thriller series coming in 2025. The show stars Claire Danes as Aggie Wiggs, an acclaimed author who has pulled back from public life after the devastating loss of her young son. Matthew Rhys plays Nile Jarvis, a real estate mogul with a shadowy past — he was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance.
The first-look photos, revealed by Vanity Fair, give an early glimpse at the tone and characters. In one, Rhys is outdoors in a sunny setting, wearing a blue blazer over a black T-shirt, his expression sharp and searching. Another shows Danes indoors, in what looks like a study or library, surrounded by shelves and a table piled with books, diaries, and a laptop, appearing deep in thought.
A third photo has the two standing outside a building, both looking intently at something out of frame. The last shot features Nathalie Morales as Shelley, Aggie’s ex-wife, sitting by a grave marked “Cooper Morris Wiggs” (January 3, 2013 – October 14, 2021), a single flower placed on the stone, as she glances over her shoulder.
