Free Bert, the Netflix comedy, has just dropped its first trailer with a premiere date, setting the stage for its debut. The new comedy series will air on January 22, 2026, as per the official premiere date.

The trailer introduces the show’s tone and invites viewers early on into a world of comedy featuring its cast. One of the most noteworthy beats occurs, capped by the self-aware line, “maybe live life with your shirt on,” which neatly establishes the series’s tone.

Free Bert features comedian Bert Kreischer in a heightened version of himself. The comedian is long associated with his carefree energy and strong presence. In the show, Kreischer is set to play a man suddenly forced to navigate an environment where his identity is more burden than badge.

The trailer frames the subtle culture clash, positioning Kreischer as a chaotic outsider dropped into one of the most image-conscious social spaces, where behaviors are measured.

According to the official YouTube description, the series will follow Kreischer when his daughters become students of a Beverly Hills private school. As opposed to the measured behavior suited for a school environment, Kreischer carries an unfiltered energy.

His party-legend reputation quickly turned his family into social outcasts. Faced with exclusion and pressure, he thinks about the advice to “put on a shirt” and to suppress his instincts in an effort to fit in.

The trailer leans heavily into this contradiction, mining humor from the gap between who Bert is and who he is expected to become. The footage suggests a fast-paced sitcom that balances broad comedy with family-driven stakes.

The show's central appeal comes from Kreischer’s inability to blend in; the trailer suggests the emotional cost of adjusting to a different social setting. His attempt to change is framed with a dash of fun and humor, and the supporting cast plays a huge role in making the maker's vision a reality.

The cast includes Lilou Lang, Christine Horn, Chris Witaske, Mandell Maughan, Sophia Reid-Gantzert, Robert Jon Mello, Braxton Alexander, Matthew Del Negro, and Noshir Dalal.

The fish-out-of-water comedy also includes Arden Myrin as Kreischer’s wife, LeeAnn. She grew up in a trailer park and now must navigate a world far removed from her roots. Ava Ryan plays their older daughter, Georgia, whose storyline includes facing cyberbullying at her new school.

The trailer and release date reveal leaned into the same playful tone that has defined the show’s early promotion. Netflix positioned Free Bert prominently during Christmas Gameday, signaling confidence in the project and Kreischer’s drawing power.

Kreischer remains one of Netflix’s most prominent stand-up performers, with specials including Secret Time, Hey Big Boy, Razzle Dazzle, Lucky, and This Machine.

You can watch Free Bert on Netflix. Airing this January 22, 2026.
