The Witcher might be even more thrilling than expected, as the show's upcoming fourth season is reportedly set to feature a musical number, as per Redanian Intelligence.
The series has been one of the streamer's buzziest titles for Netflix. Its first two seasons have already topped the charts upon their streaming debut in 2019 and 2021. No matter what season, it often included some amazing tracks that fans have been obsessively looking for since the episodes dropped online. It seems like the new season will take things a bit further.
According to Redanian Intelligence, the fourth season of The Witcher will revolve around a fish soup at a dinner party where a few of its characters, including Geralt and Rigis, will speak about their pasts. The outlet also cites that this soup might be central to the plot of that entire episode. Although yet to be officially confirmed by the streamer, it's an exciting step in a new direction.
Liam Hemsworth has big boots to fill as the new Geralt of Riviera in The Witcher
The Witcher has been one of the most-watched pieces Netflix has ever backed, and a lot of its credit goes to Henry Cavill. He embodied the strength with the grace of a warrior. Unfortunately, the British star won't be returning for the fourth or fifth season. However, in a previous statement he shared on social media, he spoke passionately about its future, saying,
“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4. In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf."
He further added,
"As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men. Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him — enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find.”
Liam Hemsworth, the Australian actor who will grace the screen as Geralt, shared a statement with Netflix:
“As a Witcher fan, I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia. Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honored that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure."
He ended his note, sharing a hope to do justice to this character that the Man of Steel star has iconically played over the years, saying:
"Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character. I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world.”
Before the show brings a brand new chapter in its saga with the fourth season, here's the plot synopsis, per Tudum,
"After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out Season 3, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri, who are separated and traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons."
It continues,
"If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire — and finding one another again."
While the fourth season is expected to arrive in 2025, it hasn't yet received an official premiere date.
