Vladimir, the upcoming Netflix limited series, has announced new cast members, including a Marvel star and many more. Vladimir is based on Julia May Jonas' novel of the same name and will have eight episodes. As Variety reported in the past, Rachel Weisz and Leo Woodall were earlier announced to be playing lead roles.
Now, Deadline has reported that Jessica Henwick, who is known for playing Colleen Wing in Marvel's Iron Fist, The Defenders, and Luke Cage, has been cast as Cynthia in Vladimir. She is joined by John Slattery, Ellen Robertson, Kayli Carter, Miriam Silverman, Mallori Johnson, Matt Walsh, Tattiawna Jones, and Louise Lambert.

Vladimir casts Marvel star and others
The show has the following logline:
As a professor’s life unravels, she becomes obsessed with her captivating new colleague. Full of sexy secrets, dark humor, and complex characters, Vladimir is about what happens when a woman is hell-bent on turning her fantasies into reality.
It was earlier announced that Rachel Weisz and Leo Woodall would be playing the lead roles, but the names of their characters have been kept a secret.

As Deadline reports, John Slattery, known for Mad Men, will be playing John, Jessica Henwick, known for her Marvel projects, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and Luke Cage, will be playing Cynthia, and Ellen Robertson, known for Mickey 17, will be playing Sid.

Kayli Carter, known for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, will be playing Lila, Miriam Silverman, known for Your Friends and Neighbors, will be playing Florence, and Mallori Johnson, known for Steal Away, will be playing Edwina. Matt Walsh, known for The Perfect Date, will be playing David, Tattiawna Jones, known for Murderbot, will be playing Alexis, and Louise Lambert, known for Chucky, will be playing Dawn.
Julia May Jonas, author of the novel Vladimir, will also write the show. She will also executive produce the show along with Sharon Horgan, Shari Springer Berman, Robert Pulcini, Rachel Weisz, Stacy Greenberg, and Kira Carstensen representing Merman, and Jason Winer and Jon Radler representing Small Dog Picture Company.

Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, known for Fleishman Is in Trouble and American Splendor, will direct three episodes out of eight.
Executive producer Sharon Horgan said about the novel and the show,
“I fell in love with Julia’s writing from the very first paragraph,”
“I feel very lucky and incredibly excited for Merman to bring Vladimir to life alongside Small Dog. Getting to partner with Netflix and have Rachel attached is a thrill, and a testament to the brilliance of the scripts.”
Vladimir, the novel, came out in February 2022 and topped best book of the year lists of the Washington Post, The Guardian, LitHub, Vulture, and The New York Public Library, among others. An adaptation of such a novel, directed and produced by renowned personalities, and starring actors who are known for sci-fi, Marvel, and critically acclaimed projects, is a highly anticipated one. Production or release details about the show are yet to be announced.
