Netflix just dropped a brand-new clip from The Sandman Season 2 Vol 2, and it’s already giving fans plenty to talk about. The second half of the final season lands on July 24, 2025. The clip brings together some of the most chaotic forces in Neil Gaiman’s universe: Dream, Loki, and Puck. Their presence sets the stage for the intense endgame of the beloved fantasy series.

Dream and the Tricksters? Peak chaos energy!

In the clip, Dream comes face-to-face with two of the slipperiest troublemakers in The Sandman world. Loki, Norse mischief-maker supreme, and Puck, the original fae trickster from Shakespearean lore, are caught mid-scheme. Their “collaboration” looks like pure chaos from the outside, but as Puck puts it:

“We don’t make the mistakes most couples do… we know we can’t trust one another.”

The scene opens with Dream interrupting their operation and calling out the global havoc they’ve unleashed. Loki calls it “global reform,” with Puck claiming it’s “long overdue.” The two are clearly very pleased with themselves, tossing sharp quips and chaotic one-liners. They’re also responsible for knocking out the Pope—but don’t panic. Puck quickly clarifies:

“He’s not dead. He’s asleep. Fairy dust. Works a treat.”

Dream is his usual calm-but-ominous self, warning them to wake the Pope and cryptically adding:

“I may have need of you soon.”

Translation: Things are about to get even messier. And that’s just the beginning of the fallout.

The Sandman Season 2 Vol 2: The final showdown is coming

This scene teases the unpredictable chaos that awaits in the final five episodes of The Sandman. Volume 2, which hits Netflix on July 24, will feature episodes 7 through 11, wrapping up Morpheus’ story in line with the final chapters of Gaiman’s legendary comic series. There’s also a bonus standalone episode, “Death: The High Cost of Living,” arriving a week later on July 31.

The episode list is already out, and it’s packed with ominous titles:

  • Episode 7: “Time and Night”
  • Episode 8: “Fuel for the Fire”
  • Episode 9: “The Kindly Ones”
  • Episode 10: “Long Live the King”
  • Episode 11: “A Tale of Graceful Ends”
  • Bonus: “Death: The High Cost of Living” (July 31)

For those keeping track of the comics, these episodes are covering the notoriously brutal Kindly Ones arc, where Dream faces fallout from deeply personal choices and family betrayals.

What do we know about The Sandman Season 2 Volume 2’s story?

After Season 2 Volume 1 ended with a devastating cliffhanger, Volume 2 picks up as Dream deals with the repercussions of spilling family blood. His realm is on the verge of collapse, and ancient forces like the Kindly Ones are gunning for him. His uneasy relationships with both enemies and supposed allies are more strained than ever.

The presence of Loki and Puck suggests even more wild cards in the mix. Johanna Constantine is back in action, and trailers tease big battles, high-stakes magic, and Dream’s kingdom facing total destruction. Behind the scenes, showrunner Allan Heinberg has confirmed Volume 2 will wrap up Dream’s story, with no plans for future seasons beyond this two-part structure.

Where to catch the action?

All episodes of The Sandman Season 2 Volume 2 drop on Netflix on July 24, with the bonus episode following on July 31. Volume 1 is already streaming, so fans can catch up before the final showdown begins. Netflix has also released official teasers, trailers, and this newest clip on their YouTube and social platforms, offering sneak peeks at what’s coming.

With Dream’s realm at risk and wild cards like Loki and Puck in play, Volume 2 is set to deliver a dramatic and visually rich conclusion. One thing is certain: The Sandman isn’t going quietly. Prepare for mischief, mayhem, and the end of Dream’s long journey when the final episodes arrive later this month.
