It: Welcome to Derry has reached a midpoint in its first season, as four episodes have been released already, and four are left. So far, we have seen how Derry was in the 1960s and gotten some hints as to what It's origins were.

It: Welcome to Derry episode 5 will be released on November 23, 2025, and the show's official X account has released a new teaser about it. The teaser addresses some questions that viewers might have already had, and the fifth episode will hopefully provide some answers to them.

It: Welcome To Derry Episode 5 teaser

The teaser for episode 5 of It: Welcome To Derry, Neibolt Street has been posted with the caption,

"We're closer than ever."

It is probably a reference to the fact that we're closer to finding out the exact origin of It. Thanks to Halloran's shining capabilities, we know that It is an extraterrestrial entity who was trapped by the natives of the land that is now Derry, a long time ago. But in the upcoming episode, we will likely get a closer look at the Neibolt house since that is where Taniel showed Halloran It is and since the title of the episode includes the name of the house too.

In the teaser, we see Will asking his friends,

"What if it doesn't want to kill us? What if it's just trying to scare us?"

This is accompanied by clips of It scaring the children but not killing them, like Marge's eye incident in the last episode, and Will almost getting drowned and getting a vision about his father. What Will asks is a good question since lately It has only scared the children, but not killed them, even though we know he easily could've. The episode will likely further address the earlier theory from episode 4 that It feeds on the fear of others, hence he's trying to create more of it.

The teaser also shows us Leroy asking General Shaw,

"What the hell do you have us chasing?"

We know that Leroy is as clueless as the rest regarding the intentions of the general, but we don't get a question to his answers. While the general is trying to find a weapon to help America win the Cold War, Derry holds something far darker than that. The next thing we hear is a voice saying,

"The pillars. Follow the tunnels under the old well."

We know that the old well is under the Neibolt House, and since Taniel told Halloran about It being in the said house, it makes sense that tunnels might lead to the uncovering of It's mystery. We are also shown grainy clips of a woman burying something, which is probably a flashback scene to how It was imprisoned in the past.

Thus, the fifth episode of It: Welcome to Derry will take us closer to the season finale, and hopefully tell us more about It's origins and intentions. The episode, titled Neibolt Street, will be released on HBO and HBO Max on November 23, 2025. The earlier episodes are streaming on HBO Max.
