The Studio's newest episode, CinemaCon, has just been released on 14th May 2025 and has an interesting detail. This satirical comedy's ninth episode was filmed at The Venetian Resort. In a promotional post on X, Apple TV wrote,

La dolce vita. A new episode of #TheStudio, filmed on location at The Venetian Resort — Now Streaming

Why was The Studio location mentioned?

The Studio, which premiered on Apple TV on 26th March 2025, depicts the story of a studio head struggling between budget issues and his passion for making good films. Given that it depicts the real issues of the Hollywood industry in a satirical way, The Studio has been filmed mostly in - you guessed it- studios. Elaborate sets were made, and most scenes were shot in sets, with some exceptions.

As far as we know, The Studio was filmed in Sunset Gower Studios, Los Angeles, Warner Bros. Studios, Burbank, and The Lot Studios. There is no official reason given by the creators as to why they mentioned the location, but it could be because it is one of the rare episodes that films at an actual location rather than a studio.

The Studio episode nine, CinemaCon, was filmed at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. If you have not watched the episode yet, you can catch a glimpse of the episode shot at the location on the Apple TV post.

In this episode of The Studio, we see Griffin Mill (played by Bryan Cranston), CEO of Continental Studios, worrying about rumors that Amazon might buy the studio while getting ready in Las Vegas to present Continental’s upcoming movies at CinemaCon. Griffin's worry is caused by the major layoffs the Amazon buyout would cause. Matt (played by Seth Rogen) reassures him that a successful presentation might prevent the sale.

Later on in the episode, during a pre-event party in Matt’s hotel suite, Griffin, now eighty-two years old, gets drunk with Dave Franco. Most of the team, except for the sober Patty (played by Catherine O'Hara), are under the influence of drugs, including powerful mushroom chocolates. The situation gets worse when Zöe Kravitz arrives and accidentally eats the mushrooms, forcing the group to look after her instead of stopping Griffin from getting drunk.

Things spiral even more when Griffin disappears and starts wandering through the casino. The team eventually finds him outside by the canal, and this is the moment we see in Apple TV's promotional post. The panic of the entire team is evident when Matt says,

"We have to project strength. If this board gets any sense that we are anything other than in complete control of this ship, we're completely f****d, okay? Ok? He is presenting. He is presenting."

The team then realizes that Griffin is not there anymore, and the entire team panics, with different characters saying different things, such as,

"Where did he go?"
"What the f**k?"
"He disappeared."

Meanwhile, totally not in his senses, Griffin stumbles onto a gondola and drifts back to the Venetian Resort.

Matt spots him drifting away in the gondola and says,

"There he is! We gotta go."

Sal (played by Ike Barinholtz) says,

"Go, go, go, go, go, go."

This is followed by the team trying to find him to make sure he does the presentation. Patty finds Griffin before the team does, and Griffin’s rude behavior reminds her of when he fired her, making her emotional. She borrows someone’s phone and secretly calls journalist Matt Belloni, possibly to leak what’s happening.

All released episodes of The Studio are currently streaming on Apple TV+, and the last episode comes out on Apple TV on 21st May 2025 at 3 am ET.
