The Night Agent, the popular Netflix action thriller, will likely head for a 4th season according to new filming updates that are making buzz all around.
Netflix has not yet announced or confirmed these updates.
According to Deadline, the series has been granted a 40% California tax credit worth $31.6 million to film its next season in Los Angeles.
The decision to shift filming to Los Angeles is also significant for the show. Seasons 1, 2, and 3 were shot across varied locations, including Vancouver and New York City. The decision depended on the credit; now that it's secured, the show's future is promising, albeit with no official confirmation.
The Night Agent update makes Season 4 renewal a real possibility
The runaway success of the show was bright, following which the platform renewed The Night Agent for two more chapters. Season 3 has not aired yet, but the updates hint at groundwork happening quietly. It’s a move that shows the streamer’s confidence in the show’s momentum without overpromising anything.

If we look at Shawn Ryan’s history, his notable titles like The Shield, The Unit, and S.W.A.T. were filmed in key locations in Los Angeles. It makes sense that with a promising title like The Night Agent, he is returning to the city. While it’s too early to know what sends Peter Sutherland to the West Coast, fans’ excitement may flare up at any moment.
At its core, The Night Agent captures the story of a low-level FBI agent who monitors every night a phone line that never rings. But when it does, he’s pulled into a spiral of conspiracy and chaos that launches him far away from the comfort of his daily desk job.
The show builds its tension around political intrigue, shifting loyalties, and the pressure of uncovering the truth before it collapses on him.
Earlier, Shawn Ryan told Tudum about Season 3,
“We’re so excited to bring new thrills, new worlds, new stunts, new characters, and new adventures to our fans in Season 3.”
Key cast for The Night Agent Season 3, who have been previously announced, are
- David Lyons
- Jennifer Morrison
- Stephen Moyer
- Genesis Rodriguez
- Callum Vinson
- Suraj Sharma in a recurring role
Despite being only two seasons in and the third awaiting release, The Night Agent has gained many nominations. Some of the most notable entries are the Astra TV Awards, Critics’ Choice Super Awards, the Hollywood Professional Association, and the People’s Choice Awards.
As updates unfold, fans are gearing up to witness the third instalment of the popular spy thriller by Netflix in 2026. Seasons 1 and 2 of the show are available for streaming on Netflix.
