The Terminal List is back with a bang, and this time it's returning with a prequel titled The Terminal List: Dark Wolf. Amazon Prime is all set to premiere with the first three episodes on August 27, followed by weekly episode releases, setting the finale up for September 24.
The Terminal List followed James Reece as he tried to untangle a conspiracy that ended with his platoon ambushed and family murdered, just to discover betrayal and heartbreak at the end of it. The prequel series, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, focuses on Ben Edwards and explores just how the Navy SEAL turned CIA Special Ops officer ended up on the dark road that we've seen him on.
Prime Video's The Terminal List: Dark Wolf moves its focus from James to Ben in the new trailer

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf premieres on August 27, 2025, with the first three episodes, and then a weekly release schedule, which sets up the seventh and final episode for a September 24 premiere. The official synopsis for the Prime Video show reads:
"Co-created by The New York Times bestselling author of The Terminal List, Jack Carr, and Season One creator-showrunner David DiGilio, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is a prequel series with an origin story that follows “Ben Edwards” (Taylor Kitsch) throughout his journey from the Navy SEALs to the clandestine side of CIA Special Operations. The series is an espionage thriller that explores the darker side of warfare and the human cost that comes with it. It also features Chris Pratt reprising his role as "James Reece.""
The Terminal List: Dark Wolf trailer from Prime Video takes us through Ben Edwards' origin story as he goes from the Navy SEALs to the CIA Special Ops. He is on a thrilling path with 'flexible rules of engagement' and no breaks to slow him down, and it looks like it's only headed for a crash, and a big one at that.
"Some men will go to war to fight the enemy, but others will seek war to fight themselves."
The Terminal List: Dark Wolf will find out just who Ben Edwards is, and it appears Taylor Kitsch's Ben is awfully close to falling under the latter category of men.
Along with Taylor Kitsch as Ben Edwards, Chris Pratt is also reprising his role as James Reece, and Tom Hopper is playing Raife Hastings. Additionally, Robert Wisdom is joining as Jed Haverford, Dar Salim as Mohammed Farooq, and Luke Hemsworth as Jules Landry. The cast list also includes Shiraz Tzarfati as Tal Varon, Rona-Lee Shimon as Eliza Perash, and Jared Shaw as Ernest ‘Boozer’ Vickers.
The prequel series is set to dig much deeper than The Terminal List, and we're here for every second of it, as revealed by Taylor Kitsch:
"This season goes even deeper—there’s more grit, more heart, and a lot more on the line. It’s raw, it’s honest, and it really lets you see the heart of who he is."
The Terminal List was a global hit for Prime Video, and only time will tell if the prequel fares equally as well for the streamer.
