Netflix is taking another dive into supernatural storytelling, with Millie Bobby Brown in the lead in a new drama called Prism. As reported by Deadline, the series is in development with the streamer, with Brown not only leading the cast, but also producing it through her PCMA banner
In Prism, Brown will play Cassie, a woman who can communicate with the dead, a gift that becomes a curse when an unexplained global phenomenon causes ghosts, or “visitors,” to appear everywhere. As Cassie races to uncover the truth behind the spectral surge, the boundaries between the living and the afterlife begin to blur.
The series hails from Shameless and Joe vs. Carole writer Etan Frankel, who will serve as showrunner. It marks a creative reunion for Netflix and AGBO, the production company led by Anthony and Joe Russo. Rachel Brosnahan and her Scrap Paper Pictures partner Russell Kahn are also executive producing, alongside the Russo brothers, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, Alessandra Maman, and Assemble Media’s Jack Heller and Caitlin de Lisser-Ellen. The project is based on the short story Prism, first published in Assemble Artifacts, and co-developed by writer Nick Shafir.
Sources say the project will not interfere with Brown’s other commitments, including her upcoming appearances in the final season of Stranger Things and her ongoing Enola Holmes film series. Prism will also mark her second collaboration with AGBO following her lead role in the Russo brothers’ The Electric State.
For Brosnahan, this marks a return to Netflix after early-career turns in House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. She recently starred as Lois Lane in Superman and will next appear in Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent.
More details on Millie Bobby Brown's upcoming projects
Millie Bobby Brown's next big project is, of course, the fifth season of Stranger Things, which is set to premiere in November. The final season, premiering in three parts this fall, looks darker, bigger, and more apocalyptic than anything we’ve seen before.
Set in the fall of 1987, the story picks up with Hawkins still reeling from the rifts that were torn open in the last season. The government has locked the town under military quarantine, and Millie Bobby Brown's Eleven is once again forced into hiding as the hunt for her intensifies. Vecna has vanished, but his shadow still lingers, and the gang’s mission is clear: find him and end it once and for all. “To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone, the full party, standing together, one last time,” reads Netflix’s official synopsis.
Returning cast members include Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Jamie Campbell Bower, and Cara Buono. Joining them are Amybeth McNulty, Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, Alex Breaux, and the Terminator legend Linda Hamilton as Dr. Kay.
Fans won’t have to wait long for the endgame: Volume 1, with episodes 1–4, drops November 26, Volume 2 with episodes 5–7 arrives on Christmas, and the grand finale lands on New Year’s Eve at 5 p.m. PT.
In addition, Millie Bobby Brown is preparing for two upcoming Netflix projects, the third season of Enola Holmes, slated for release in 2026, and Just Picture It, a romantic comedy in which she stars alongside Gabriel LaBelle.
