Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori & Wayne’s Story premiered its first episode, where Snoop's daughter Cory opens up about her childhood disease, suicide attempt, and mental health struggles.
Cory, a 25-year-old, has been diagnosed with lupus since the early age of 6. Mayo Clinic defines lupus as an autoimmune disease in which one's immune system starts attacking the healthy tissues of the body. No cure has been discovered for this yet, and it is difficult even to diagnose as its symptoms are similar to those of other diseases.
In the premiere episode of the E! docuseries, Cory discusses her struggle with the disease and how, after COVID-19 hit, she attempted suicide in 2021.

Cory opens up about her struggle with lupus on the first episode of Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori & Wayne’s Story,
"Since a little girl I've always been depressed, I’ve always been 'Why me? Just being young and sick with lupus, it was hard. Going to the doctor's all the time, taking blood pressure medications. So once COVID hit, I was just in a dark, deep space."
Appreciating her fiance Wayne Duece, Cori said,
"I am so lucky to have Wayne, but still, we’re all going through something. It will be okay, and it does come with time. I feel like, when we’re in a certain space or place, it feels like the end of the world."
In an interview, she even talks about what led to her making the decision to end her life,
“I’ve always wanted the pain to go away. You get to a place where you’re like, ‘Enough is enough.'"
She continues, “We think the easiest way out is to just end it when it’s really not. Being on a 5150 hold in the hospital, having supervision to go to the bathroom, [having] somebody sitting in a chair to make sure I don’t do anything, and then going to a mental facility, it was definitely an eye-opener for me.”
When asked what made her comfortable sharing about her experience now, Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori & Wayne’s Story star replied,
“I’m such an open book. So many people reached out to me [saying they’re] going through the same thing. [People are like,] ‘How could you want to kill yourself? You have this perfect life.’ All of that materialistic stuff doesn’t go with you when you die, right? I want to speak about certain things that people may not speak about.”
"I’ve been off my medications for four or five months now. Went to the doctor and my labs looked better than ever. I’m still very, very tired, but my body doesn’t ache as much."
Cori also shares about her current mental health and how she has been working on herself lately.
