More details on Ozzy Osbourne's Back To The Beginning
At age 76 and dealing with Parkinson’s and mobility challenges, Ozzy Osbourne performed seated on a gothic throne, delivering a set of solo classics before joining Bill Ward, Geezer Butler, and Tony Iommi for an emotional finale of Sabbath anthems like “War Pigs,” “Iron Man,” and “Paranoid”.
The concert spanned about 10 hours, featuring a hall-of-fame lineup curated by Tom Morello. Apart from this, a firepower-loaded lineup, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Alice in Chains and more, delivered tribute sets curated by Tom Morello. Hosted by Jason Momoa, the event also included special video tributes and a mid‑concert drum-off showcase.
Talking about his preparations for the concert during SiriusXM’s Ozzy Speaks, the rock legend said:
“I haven’t done any physical work for the last seven, six and a half, seven years. I’ve got this trainer guy who helps people get back to normal. It’s hard going, but he’s convinced that he can pull it off for me. I’m giving it everything I’ve got.”
The setlist for the show included,
Ozzy Osbourne Set List
- “I Don’t Know”
- “Mr. Crowley”
- “Suicide Solution”
- “Mama, I’m Coming Home”
- “Crazy Train”
Black Sabbath Set List
- “War Pigs”
- “N.I.B.”
- “Iron Man”
- “Paranoid”
The world couldn’t all fit into Villa Park, but the concert did have its tickets reportedly sold out in under 16 minutes. Over 5.8 million people tuned in globally, according to reports, and 40,000 attended in person.
All profits, around £140 million depending on source, were donated to Cure Parkinson’s (Ozzy Osbourne’s center), Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice, making this epic celebration also one of the most successful charity concerts ever staged. For fans who missed it live, the replay window offered a rare chance to witness this landmark musical moment, and walk away feeling part of rock history. Many are now hoping that the show will be available to stream online soon.
